i took my 360 all apart, took the heat sinks off, replaced thermal paste, got plastic and steel washers and bolts and all that, then put it back together, and the red ring was gone for a week, then it red ringed again, so i took it apart, reset it again, and loosened the bolts a bit, worked for a day then red ringed again.. so i dont know what the fuck to do this is pissing me off

@mendozairis as an electronics engineer with several degrees in this line of business iv never heard of anything so silly in all my life. solder has a melting point or melting range of 120 to 450 degree Celsius their after a higher temperature could be dangerous for the components when fitted. Their is no such things as solder being any stronger or more heat resistant than it already is. the problem is that their is not enough ventilation inside the xbox nor strong enough fan.

after opening up my xbox.. and reassembling it back together i got these problems.. first i got the usual 3 red lights and after a few seconds my xbox starts to sound loud than usual maybe the fan overdrives and it quickly turns from 3 red light to two red lights. my xbox is not even hot and i know that if 2 light means its overheated but im pretty sure my xbox is cool. any help please! whats going on?
I got the red ring. The funny thing is, my 360 apparently doesn't know what's wrong with itself. Sometimes it'll be 3 rings, other times it'll be one ring. Sometimes the error code is 0103 or 0133 or blah blah blah. We're just going to send it in and say "Well fix it" It really stinks, I just got Nazi Zombie mode on cod5 too! Lol
It does happen because of overheating. But the intercooling sucks more energy out of your 360 causing it to give a worse picture and makes a louder noise than the 360 already does. Also leave at least 10inches-1foot from every side of your 360, also don't play for more than 8ish hours at a time.
dont buy an intercooler i have 1 and their fuckin loud and useless cuz after a month it will suck IN the dirt so plz dont buy 1 their a waste of 50$ btw just put it in a really spaced area or on a glass stand and it wont overheat k?
i have a black nyko intercooler and it works fine though....its only 9.99, mine actually blows the air out of the console so i would just get the nyko.....and i have to say....i play for about 12-18 hrs strait so i think it works
wtf. the towel thing works alot better then this, and its easier! dont have to open it up just put a towel, or blanket around with the 360 for 20 minutes, and cool off for 10 minutes.
The towel doesn't really work and the hair dryer you cant tell iff its heated up properly. I best way ive found is when you removed the X clamps and fitted the new screws with RUBBER washers helps the xbox move is to put it bk in the base plate and connect the ON switch bk on but leave the fans un plugged and switch it on the 3 red lights still show but leave it til there is only 2 takes about 25 mins (Keep an eye on it) turn off and bk on it should work just plug fans bk in and rebuild.
do not do the x clamp fixit does not work permanently only temporary like 1 or 2 days then dead again,just send it to microsoft!!!!they will fix it properly they are the professionals!!!!some screws,washers,heatsink compound is not the solution the real solution is send it to microsoft!!!the result wil be a failure every time!!!!will not work wil not fix makes your xbox worse then you cant get it fixed at all cause you most likely will short your mobo!!!!so just leave it well alone,send to ms

The towel doesn't really work and the hair dryer you cant tell iff its heated up properly. I best way ive found is when you removed the X clamps and fitted the new screws with RUBBER washers helps the xbox move is to put it bk in the base plate and connect the ON switch bk on but leave the fans un plugged and switch it on the 3 red lights still show but leave it til there is only 2 takes about 25 mins (Keep an eye on it) turn off and bk on it should work just plug fans bk in and rebuild.

do not do the x clamp fixit does not work permanently only temporary like 1 or 2 days then dead again,just send it to microsoft!!!!they will fix it properly they are the professionals!!!!some screws,washers,heatsink compound is not the solution the real solution is send it to microsoft!!!the result wil be a failure every time!!!!will not work wil not fix makes your xbox worse then you cant get it fixed at all cause you most likely will short your mobo!!!!so just leave it well alone,send to ms

my mrs had a xbox 360 for an year and a half thats because she put it near an window a open window and get a normal fan and put it by the gap of the xbox and it stop its from having hardware because stops it from overheating and stops dust from getting inside of the machine

the only reason an xbox 360 would break if u were to be a total retard and hit it around everywhere, just leave it in one place and it will be fine. i leave mine on at least 12 hour every day (i dont go on it for that long) and it has been functioning fine for over a year.

It works im not joking, put any disk in some lemon juice and then put it in your xbox and the acid from the lemon will go into the xbox and will erode the main part of the problem but it will not work for ever, mine lasted 8 days then i just sent it off, so try it, it works well
