  • It was so clever the way you start off thinking that Haken is a serial killer...& you think 'oh no, not another boring slasher film'...but then it becomes the most incredible, surreal, beautiful tale of love, friendship, trust & loyalty. Some narrow-minded twits just don't get it sadly, & are obsessing & hung up over paedophilia, exploitation of children etc. completely missing the point of the film or the complexities of the relationships given the time frame & context of these relationships.

  • @sleepypoodle Well, Hakan is that in the book. Eli's relationship with Hakan is very different than Eli's relationship to Oskar.

  • Polanski's 'Dance of the Vampires' 1967 (Fearless Vampire Killers) is one of the funniest vampire films ever. It stars Polanski & the beautiful Sharon Tate whom he married in '68 - a year before she was murdered by the Manson mob whilst 8 months pregnant with Polanski's child.. My father must have smuggled me into the cinema under his coat because I remember being scared witless, but it really deserves to be in the top 5 vampire films and I would urge you to see it.

  • Sounds pretty cool, i'll try and find a copy and check it out ;)

  • Nice review! One thing he said that quite a lot of reviews also says is that they think the movie gets boring when they sort of don't know whats going on. To me it's almost the opposite, it's when a movie tells me everything about what's going on and explains everything that it gets boring. The vaguesness and mystiq about LTROI is one of it's strengths in my opinion.

  • I second that!

  • Nice review, and I agree it's a great vampire movie compared to all the other shit coming out...have you heard it's gonna be remade into an english version?

  • Yeah... That's sad. There's nothing in this movie that needs to be remade in my opinion. It's not as though an English audience won't understand the film because of some kind of cultural context Western America doesn't understand. When I hear "remade" right away I think, "Make it more accessible". This really makes me upset.

    Thanks for the nice words!

  • Cool Adam, I've watched the trailer and made a note of this movie. Take it easy.
