  • on my 18th birthday, my friends organised suprise tickets to see Billy at Ronnie Scotts as they knew i was mad about him. It was a fantastic night, i even got to meet him back stage and got a kiss on the cheek - all my birthdays came at once! Still loving that voice, thanks for putting on.

  • Just beautiful.....

  • The simplicity somehow evokes the cavernous splendour of the original production. He is without question one of the most original talents of all time. But also let us not forget Alan Rankine's part in this classic.

  • Sublime.

  • Just can't believe you have these..... I was one of the lucky ones to be at this.......

  • Simply mindblowing.

  • What a truly unusual song. You would think that stripped of the weird background noises and sound effects of the studio version, it would sound slightly less extraordinary but au contrare. The sparseness of this really brings the strangeness of the piano melody to the fore. I believe that's the classically trainedHoward Hughes on piano. This definitely has more in common with classical than pop music and has long reminded me of Erik Satie. Alongside Skipping, standout track on an oustanding LP.

  • Wow, Billy at his best ! I saw him with this program in Hamburg in 1984.I thing It was the only concert he played in Germany.I made a lot of fotos that night and after the show i was talking to him at the bar. For me he was / is the best singer i have ever heard !!! RIP Billy Mac !!!

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow. This works so well stripped down with mostly just the piano. Definitely poignant and haunting as already said.

  • Wow, what a find. In its original version this song was a disturbing and psychotic plea. Here, sparsely pared down to just Billy and piano, it becomes a poignant, haunting lament. Darkly beautiful Rest in peace sweet Billy.

  • Wow, what a find. Always one of my favorites. In its original form it was a slightly disturbing and psychotic plea. This version is a haunting and reflective lament. Sweet Billy.......I hope you rest in peace. Beautifully dark rendition this gem.

  • This is amazing....

  • sends tingles down my spine.

  • Absolutely stunning version!!

  • His love is all that is left for us now...

  • Wish I'd been there. One of my favourite songs, intimate venue and sounds great.

  • This is the most beautiful song!

RIP Billy - Love you always...nam myoho renge kyo. Thank you for posting this.
