id go to the 60s, to see the beatles, JA, and stones (lets face it, they were at their best in the 60s, they were OK in the 70s, then went downhill, as music in general did in the 80s)
then id go to the 70s and see Led Zep in earls court
I Saw Grace in Chicago this same year and she was gorgeous ! What a fox she was !...no wonder she was a prof. model before joining the Great Society and then the J.Airplane. What a time and a privilege it was to have lived through and witnessed in person the whole evolution of Rock from Evis on !
Grace was so hot! Keep in mind she is pushing 30 here but looks closer to 20. And, yes, like many others who 'were there' I'd love to go back to the 1960s.
Great song! I wonder how Justin Bieber and all the other trash produced nowadays would feel listening to real music... anyways, these lyrics are different from the studio version (which I like better) and I just can't seem to find the right ones, they all have mistakes. Does anyone there have the original lyrics? Can't understand 100% of what she's singing...
@Antraxto I was there !!! 67 was a GREAT year for witnessing the evolution of Rock ! Saw Grace and JA at the Arie Crown theatre, Chicago in 67... Grace was a fox !! Give anything to go back for a visit.Today has NOTHING to compare !
@dbrinkm1 My parents saw them in 1970 in Isle of Wight & don't recall a thing- only two long journey's & being cold. Anyway, I have 2 Q's for you, bear with me, I'm stoned & curious now! So, you'd love to go back for one day. Okay, which JA gig would you pick & would you go as you are now, and observe, or as your young self & go all out?!!!!
I'd pick Bath, England 1970- and be a High Flying Bird!! They played at 2am after Led Zeppelin & blew them away. What band can say that!
@jakeenan Give me two days.1. JA at Woodstock 1969. and 2.JA at Monterey 1967. Let me be the crazy 20 year old that I once was for , looking back , it IS, hell to grow old and don't let anybody tell you that you can trade wisdom for youth because it is a very poor trade indeed ! Peace youngster....
i need a time machine....

Grace had such a cool stage presence. Just the right amount of intensity without being too serious.

I like this version better than the recorded version. I'm not sure why, but it sounds groovier. I love Grace Slick's voice.

I don't like this live, it sounds like a jam. Studio version is much better.

@dehorslescrouilles
that made me giggle :) in my opinion cuz it's exactly the other way round =)
but we should not argue bout this... it's just a great song.... live or studio version :P

@Renardo83 You think the studio version sounds like a jam?

@dehorslescrouilles
no you got me wrong dude :)
I like the live version more than the studioversion... because of the jamstyle... that was the point ;-)
have a nice day
