@axnasia1 Terranigma's story isn't merely about saving the world; it goes FAR deeper than that. It's almost like if you could make the world a much better place, you would, and that the truth and reason why we as human beings live and evolve would be more clear to us than what we're supposed to assume. The more I think deep into it, the more I cry. It's that powerful.

@RYNOPro There is nothing deep about the story, you are over analyzing. I wanted to punch a hole into my monitor when Elle came in the end and started babbling about how I must fight the final boss and save the world yet again. I felt completely cheated. Also, we do not evolve for any "spiritual" reasons as you seem to be implying. The cause of evolution is completely biological and dependent on environmental conditions.
This game actually did have revolutionary gameplay at the time. Sure, you still had to grind somewhat but that's just an integral part of action RPGs.
Quintet/Enix mixed it up though with different attack types that had different levels of effectiveness when used on enemies. There was also the very unique inventory system. It was easy to navigate and it was nice to have everything neatly arranged and ready to go.
There are other things as well, but it's been so long since I played.

This game was good but definitely not the best of SNES in my opinion. The best were the Chrono trigger and FF6. The story and gameplay of this game were the let down but the music is definitely amongst the best .
@axnasia1 I have to disagree with you, I agree, in the sense that Chrono Trigger and FFIII (or VI, depends...) are two amazing games for the console (CT is my personal favorite). However, if CT and FFIII are the 2 best RPG's for the console, Terranigma is a close 3rd. The story is amazing, and the gameplay revolutionary. The music, is still third to CT and FFIII's amazing soundtracks, but is amongst the best 16-bit music EVER. Just my opinion, and you are certainly entitled to your own.

@CommanderCobalt We agree on the music part but I completely disagree on the story and gameplay part. The game started out as something unique but quickly degenerated into save the world crap once again. While CT and FF3 were also about saving the world they accomplished it about a hundred times better than Terranigma. The "revolutionary" gameplay of this game can be summed up in one word - "grinding". Grinding for the next boss.
@axnasia1 The story is your opinion, I think that Terranigma did a great job with the Story. I actually never had to grind in the game, but I've heard that its a complaint with others. Once again, your entitled to you opinion, I get mine too.

@Satadrian We were talking about the music, and trust me when I say that CT>TN. I can go as far as saying Terranigma, the game in general, doesnt even come close to Chrono Trigger in all aspects. But that's not saying much...Terranigma is still one of the greatest RPG ever.
I just cant resist to download this epic ost to mi cel tunes. When I remember that fantastic ending a tear escapes of my eyes. Yeah! I raise it in the top of the Snes games, it joins to fantastics names like A link to the past, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI. I love this game, the last gem at the best console ever. What sweet memorie.
For me the 16 bit era will always be the golden age of rpg's. Terranigma, Chrono Trigger, FFVI are all brilliant games. The music is so memorable too from those games.
Best Theme ever from the best game ever.

@19Imperial88 never :o terranigma touched me way more than chrono trigger, but thats all just about opinions ;)
if i had to choose which game has the better music.. thats something I can't decide, both are superior to me :o

@19Imperial88 Agreed, it was the same Nobuo Uematsu that put the same type of grandeur from CT in the Final Fantasy series.

terranigma had good music.
What made me sad was the ending when the character turned into a bird and flew off and said he would be reborn again.
I almost felt like he killed himself to be reborn again.
Also chrono trigger is square and terranigma/illusion of gaia/soul blazer is enix.
2 diferent companies.
Sure they are fused together now,but this was before they were fused.
