The thing is that I have always loved The Carpenters...always...so to hear this story after all these years is so interesting. I can never fail to appreciate Karen's vocals. How could anyone? Her voice was a marvelous instrument, and I still think of her, even after all these years.

It does sound very similar in parts to "For All We Know", but I don't think that the song is "lame". Such a shame though that lyrics like "when we're this close, we're bound to work it out somehow" were never words she could say about having the love of a good man in her life to help get her through her troubles.
