What an inept man. If he had just chose to be honest at the time of Mr deMenezes murder and blame his trigger happy racist force for their unreasonable killing then he would probably still be head of the police today & everyone would have understood in time that this would have been the right thing to do, when all the telling evidence of his underlings lies became public.
Sir Norman Bettison, the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire Police who was expected to be on a shortlist of replacements for Sir Ian Blair, ruled himself out of the running and accused Mr Johnson of ousting Sir Ian for "short-term political expediency".
Sir Norman said: "The dislodging of Ian Blair is a demonstration of political will. Along this road lies danger. I am therefore staying put."
