Made in Australia. I wonder if they are going to offer these to the general public? I wish they would have done something different with the tail lights. They look too much like an Impala, and most every other car on the road.
@astrosafari727 I read an article and GM was thinking of offering the car to the public because of demand. I'd buy one :)
I don't really mind that too much as I've always liked the looks of the Impala. I wish the interior was setup more like an Impala, then I'd be right at home lol.
@astrosafari727 13 were actually sold to the public through a GM loophole (which was closed afterwards)....but rumor has it that there might be a civilian version coming next year
@Veikra Probably. The 1991-1996 Generation of the Caprice was actually the king of the police car back then. Once they stopped making them all police sales went to Ford. I guess this Caprice though is gonna be police only, but I've heard some dealer want to sell civilian models to the public.
@WillieWonka928D The enginnering is now payed for since they already have police buying them. And all the engineering was switching the car from RHD to LHD. So no reason not to sell it if people start asking for them at the dealer. I always liked the holden styling in the front, but the back looks like a older malibu. I have a Crownvic, I'd like a caprice aquarium (station wagon) but they are so old now. :/
@Veikra I'm not sure what I think of the front end. I don't know if I like it but I don't hate it. Its different.
Yeah I read it was actually because of public demand that they were thinking of selling them to the public also. Kind of odd because I figured with gas prices as high as they are no one would really want a big RWD V8 Sedan. But then I read in the Michigan State Police testing the car got like 30 mpg highway with the 6.0L V8.
@newcaramrod The Crown Vic was nice but its time had to come. Now they're making the Taurus into a cop car. Front Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive. I kinda like the idea of an AWD cop car.
@310sj I'm kind of liking the new Taurus police car, and I like that its available in All Wheel Drive and with the EcoBoost Twin Turbo V6. I think thats gonna give the Impala a run for its money. But now with the Ford Crown Victoria gone, and not that their making the Caprice again its gonna be the new king. Back in 1991-1996 the old body style Caprice used to be the king of the police car. When they quit making it is when the Crown Vic took over.
