you dont HAVE to bleach dark hair actually, you just need to leave it on longer at the developing part :p

it makes the dye weird taking.

and it didnt take because you cant dye dark hair a lighter color =] youll have to bleach it, just dont bleach it more then twice, otherwise itll just fall out xD.

dying/bleching your hair really damages it though. so if you start bleaching it prepare for your hair never to feel as soft as it does now =P

actually you CAN dye dark hair a lighter color easily. but if it's going to be more than 3 shades lighter, then bleach IS needed. bleach isn't needed for every color out there.

true, but it depends from person to person.

for me i can use permenant dye on my hair [naturally orange] and only go two shades lighter, and it wont change colors at all.

but usually when people dye their hair they want a drastic color change. versus a bit lighter or darker.

my older sister has a redish, brownish hair color and she tried to self-dye it a really light blonde color without bleaching, and it just turned orange! not even red... just orange. it was horrbile.

i my natural hair color is black and i am now PLATINUM blonde..&& i bleach my hair every weekend..too keep up my roots and its the only way i know how to keep my pretyy platinum locks..lol..colors never worked for me..lol..i am happy you liked your hair after it was all done!! <33 your really hott!!!

lol i dont know if you knew this.. but dont pick out a hair dye by the picture on the box... thats all fake ... im sure youve noticed that tho.. and also your not soposed to wash ur hair b4 u dye it because it makes your scalp more scensative to the dye so it can burn or itch

yeah, I've noticed in the few times that I've dyed my hair that it doesn't exactly come out that color. lol...also I've learned I need to pick an ashy blonde color, otherwise it turns out red. :-\
