Harmon did a good job in this role. The movie was made before they realized just what Bundy had really done with Ott and Naslund. He apparently took them both to a nearby home and made each girl watch as he raped the other. He then made one of them watch as he strangled the other girl.
Ted Bundy just fascinates me. Using a cast as a tool to lure girls into helping him is so fucking brilliant. Not that I'm saying well done or anything but he definitely knew what he was doing. Not to mention he was good looking so that helped a bit.
You know it is amazing that while watching this, I see mark as Gibbs in season 3 of NCIS. he is talking with a serial killer in the Episode "Mind Games" who bears a close resemblance to Ted Bundy's modus operandi.
OMG Gibbs! Man I never knew what Mark Harmon looked like without Silver Hair and then I see this and an old movie called Get Harry and it's so weird seeing him without it.
On second thought, I fucki9ng hate Ted Bundy@! Any one ot thofose girls he killed, they could have beebn one of my neices!@! You know, I'm all for living your ow2n way, bunt not when it comes to fucking up other peoples lives. What a selfish fucking asshole! If he did that shit to oneonf oe of my neices i'd cu fuickiing chut his heart out. Selfish asshold. He thinks his own individual drives are more important than everyone else's fucking lives. Selfish prick. Fuck him@!
I admire Ted Bundy fgor having the coureabge to do his poarticular thing/. Yehah, he contiributed nothing to society, but he did what he wanted to do. He was happy. He lived the way he wanted to . He is dead now. He is unbothgered by the fact that all humanity hates the memory of him. He lived his own wah and had happyness his own way and he's a real winner in my book. Heil Satah. Yeah!
Yeah handsome and charming killed an 8 year old when he was 15, and a 12 year old and slept and mutilated them when they were dead. He was manipulative. People seem to be desensitised to what he did?
Ah, this is more about what a stud Mark Harmon is than Ted Bundy. For the real story, see Ted Bundy the way Charles Nelson Reilly played him - Burke Reilly -- whatever.
This movie was at it's time one of the great made for TV movies. I remember watching this movie when I was 11 years old, and it was then that I learned of Ted Bundy and the horriable things that he did to women. His execution in Florida back in 1989 made alot of people very happy as they celebrated his death by way of the electric chair. Mark Harmon did his best to play the part of this absolute monster!
The woman in this scene is based on Janice Graham, who managed to avoid getting in Bundy's car. She later saw him walking back to his vehicle with Janice Ott, who unfortunately, along with Denise Naslund that same day, didn't survive their encounter with Bundy. Graham later collaberated with police on the sketch of Bundy.
The only movie to ever give me nightmares..., I was living in Seattle at the time this movie came out...took me years to watch any movie staring mark harmon...LOve him as
Marc Harmon is an AWESOME actor. no matter what the role hes playing. He can play a serial killer Awesomly and an agent (like in NCIS which by the way i luv tht show) But wat im trying to say is marc harmon = Great actor thumbs up if u agree
The only thing they never captured in any of the movies about Bundy was his constanty changing apperance, I know it might have been quite difficult and all but it was quite a key factor.
I wonder if ted bundy himself watched this movie about him?.....This movie came out 1986 and everyone watched it and he was on death row at the time.....just wonder if he ever saw this??
@chasemeifucan1 He probably thought it was great, as he seemed to need to do anything to have power and control over people. Most men like that feel inadequate inside, so need things so that people think they're something, such as trying to act as if he was a trained lawyer at his trial, when his girlfriend had written most of his college essays.
True, but you have to remember that Ted Bundy was handsome and charming (like Mark), and that was how he lured so many girls in so that he could kill them.
On another note, I'll just stare at Mark awhile. :)
i know right i was like damn id get in that car u stupid fool... then i remembered he was a serial killer then i though.. if i could have a peice of that i could die happy LOL
If you're talking about "Bundy," you're right. This movie was extremely accurate and Mark Harmon *nailed* this part. Whereas that one made me want to claw my eyes out and vomit.
The other movie (2002) was just as accurate as this one, only the new one expanded on parts that they didn't want to touch in 1986. Harmon was the best Bundy, but he didn't hit that level of insanity that Bundy had. From extremley handsom and charming to a detatched necrophilliac killer. Not his fault, they didn't want to show the gore, but it was needed because without it women fell in love with Bundy (Harmon) without seeing the true evil the real Bundy had.
@xshingie You are obviously not from the PNW. :) We Washingtonians sun on cloudy days, too. (I was going to say, "rain or shine," but that would be going too far, even for those of us with webbed feet. ;)
