  • you play the shittest music man

  • 0:58 Same Headphones i Use For my pc . nice mate .

  • I think it is before or after too lol

  • Put the needle on the record.

  • @emirilyasov I think if you cant be bothered with loops, cueing and beatmatching, then why are you dj'ing? That is the fundamental stuff you have to do as a dj.

  • @emirilyasov Because then DJ'ing requires no skill ? exactly like that cunt dj blend.....mate my advice is dont use a laptop cus it's kinda like cheating.......you'll get more respect without one thats my theory :)

  • The thing about cdj's is you cant get acappellas. How can u get acappellas if i go for cdjs.

  • @Qflick burn one

  • I just wanna say anytime I hit a bump in the road, your videos deliver me. So "Cheers" my friend and thank you.

  • nice hat mate!!

  • the acappela ur useing sounds real good for scratching whats it called

  • what do you think about mixing psychedelic. i dont know smack about djing but im just curious

  • acapellas4u.co.uk - the only site you'll ever need for your free acapella downloads

  • This helped! thnks

  • can we mix any accappellas with any beats or has some criterias!

  • @manojthakuriphoner

ofc as long as they are in the same key and aslong as it sounds good

  • the part where he said "...99.9 percent..." the music in my head started to spin "pointnintenine pointnintenine pointnintenine pointnintenine pointnintenine pointnintenine"

oh well great vid of course!!!

  • man u rock

  • niice video , but guys i need advice for recording a house set

  • what are some good acapellas for electro?

  • man you Dj's explain things to make them sound about eight thousand times more complicated than their actual physical existence permits reality to dictate. I mean if you got 50 percent of what you just said, condensed it down to 25%, then got the remaining 50% and condensed that down to 25%, put your NOW CONDENSED couple of condensed tutorials and put them together. You'd have 50% LESS BULLSHIT! awesome how this works huh? just kidding mate. nice vid.

  • i love how u bounce like a monkey so i know ur lying.....you love bananas your a monkey. duhh

  • whta acapella is that?-From What Song?

  • @1544max acapella is from the cricket mix from harry choo choo romero. go on google and type in beats vol 2 harry romero you should find it.

  • cheers man, love the enthusiasm.

  • It can get tricky depending on the track, but it's just as he is training it. You have to start on the 1 or on the 16 beat. Some tracks you can start on the 8th beat. It all varies, but to play it on the safe side, go with the 1. A new sound is implemented after every 16 beats.

  • omfg..it's easy when you adjust the "beats"-vinyl in advance..I mean..every monkey counts to 4 but just make a video of you doing that when coming from another track...it gets a little harder when you have to adjust the acapella to something else (not in advance plz :p)

  • have you ever heard of a program called audacity, it is like a recording studio on your computer.

  • HA! I actually laughed at "Real DJs play with themselves?"

  • love the quote behind the turntables! lol

  • This is gOod tutorial, click my name and check out my Acapella Mix...DJ ALVIN D vs. BHANGRA vs. I LOOK GOOD/CHARLIE BOY ACAPELLA ..!

kEEp dOING yA TRAINING THIZZLE...! ..!

  • LOL you said acapeller

  • I think i forgive you for putting explicit lyrics in this mix

  • how do u have all this equipment, every video it seems like you have a new set, just curious

  • whats the name of the track?

  • nice job !

  • buy them on beatport man

  • you are legit.

    i love your accent :o)

  • u are doing a amazing job mate!!!!

  • Where i can find the acapellas of many songs ??

  • acapellas 4 u. you need to sign up but after it's free.

  • Sweary words :O :'(

    Jk ;)

  • Where do u get accapellas from?

  • soulseek;)

  • The baby acapella shop.

You gotta wait for them to grow.

Water and good food should make the growth period around 3 months or so.

  • Commedian! lol

  • every f*cking day

  • the sign in the background is amazing. true dj's don't worry about the way its played, but what's being played!!!!!

  • Nice to know other people think the same way as me! The word DJ is such a broad term!

  • yes! who cares about the medium it all comes down to the end result!

  • fits perfect

  • ya ok but the REAL trick of the matter is finding the pitch setting that will match the BPM of the acapella and ensuring the acapella matches the key of the track you are mixing with.

  • thats a horrible acapella man

  • If your not scratching, then it doesn't matter what your using to play music! As long as it has a pitch control and some sort of platter, you can beatmix with it. I've used vinyl, cd and all kinds of software out there. Serato allows you to use whatever you want to play music, it's freedom! Not to say you can't scratch with a cdj or a dns3700 but vinyl is still the best for scratching. Who needs to carry around crates of vinyl when you can use a vinyl timcode?

  • nice hat

  • bad....!!!!!!!!!

  • Playing vinyl just has a better feel if you ask me.

But who the fuck am I.

  • @show1iam ahahaha,

  • @show1iam I like either cdjs and/ora usb one to hook up to a computer

  • Very true Johnathan. Bananas are for eating hahaha.

  • DJ's DO PLAY WITH BANANA'S!!!

  • what is the name of the acapella please!

  • Those tables are wild.

  • im with what stylakidd said 100%!!!

fuck all stupid lame vinyl purest djs. Get with the times!

i personally own over 40 crates of vinyl and i used to always carry a crate and a full bag to every gig,

like i said used to!!! Serato is the shit... real djs use it to such a level that no lame wannabe can ever even begin to imagine, i beat it up and cum in its ear !!!

like this guy said ,, real djs play with music..

some people just got no clue ....

  • i agree . people need to stop trying to stop progress instead of taking a step back . take a step forward

    -Mastr

  • Love that track. I heard that about 8 years ago the first time! wow!

  • hiya j dont suppose u got an mp3 of eddie amador's rise u cand send me have you??

  • good tute, learnt alot!

  • I just started using serato. I learned beat matching with vinyls though, and also just recently was forced to use CD turntables for the first time. I love it all, serato being what I use the most, but I all "DJs" should know how to do so without stuff like that.

  • Im sick of people focusing on what to use etc. FUCK ALL THE GEAR.. Its how you use it and what you make out of it. I Personaly think using serato is more convinient FOR ME because i dont have to carry shit loads of music cd/vinyls. i just need a laptop (cds for backup). and looping is great. you can make new tracks live! why would i struggle to do it on vinyls (tho i can use vinyl). how many times do people come up2 the booth and ask you what ur using?

  • nice hat

  • I got some acapellas but I dont have the original instrumental I wanna know how to beat match an acaüella with a track?

  • sorry, subaro0o, we didn't realise how much of an awesome dj you were. we apologise for patronising you with this advice that you are so seemingly beyond and superior to.

  • i think it also wastes the time of all his gf's. most of them anyway.

  • Whats The Song On The Right? The 1 That Goes "I Just Cant Belive All The Things People Say"?

  • Harry Choo Choo Romero - I Want Out (I Cant Believe) Cricket Remix

  • lmao play with themselves

  • lol he's using kams, they we're my very first turntables.i had the red dwarf ones from yrs and yrs ago.why would you use kams anyway.they're not what you would call professional

  • where do u get acapellas from?

  • Whats The Song On The Right ??? The 1 Tht Goes "I Just Cant Belive All The Things People Say"????????????

  • The original from that vocal = FUCKING AWESOME!

  • j! those mix really well. im impressed. good job.

  • Real Djs play with themselves.

  • LOL dirty boy!

  • I was wrong, I thought real DJs played with bananas =(

  • LOl i love ur little papers in the back jajaajaj...

  • In trance structured genres, the vocal segment of track often is played by itself with no beat, baseline or melody, and has dropped from its original bpm drastically.

  • Well explained video. But I don't think this works for all acapellas. Some acapellas take the vocals from different parts of the track. A hardstyle acapella I have takes the vocals from (e.g. 1:30, 3:00, then 4:30) and combines it into one short track. The track's original length is 7 minutes and original bpm is 145. But the acapella is

    1 minute long and the

bpm is 132. It depends on the type of acapella and genre. I think this procedure is oftenly used with trance structured genres.

  • well, with hardstyle the "vocals" are usually just samples and such and so working them into a song would mean sampling that one vocal to a certain mem bank. With many mainstream acapellas, including "satisfaction" there is alot of nothingness, just so it lines up nicely. But your right, not all acapellas are insync, usually those are called "Dj Tools" like on teh United Nations Cd.

  • Real Djs play with themselves.

    So true. so true.

  • sweet sweet sweet XD

    thanks dude awesome

  • with themselves!

  • thanks a lot for posting the video man.. i greatly apreciate.. now heres a question i had..

when you played the melody or beat.. and counted the bars.. then played the acapella.. did u you then adjust the acapella so it wud fit perfect with the beat.. with the slider? as if they were like 2 tracks and u wanted to beatmatch them.. did u beatmatch the acapella with the track?

  • Yes, it is important to beatmatch the vobals with the playing beat...

  • yes he did. u have to imagine that the acapella has a kick just like the song. that's why john stomped his foot on the floor. and that has to match up with the second record that has the actual beat

  • I have that loop record. Awesome record. I still use it till this day. Not that many House Music Dj Tools back in the late 90's.

  • haha love the quote in the background!

  • i was thinking of mixing the acapella from "viva la vida" and mixing it into one of deadmau5's songs. idk i get bored :D

  • this very basic...u can do unlimited possibilities with DJ software using acappella with orignal loops or just mash in with other remixes and adding effects.

  • I added a response example using ENUR acapella over a remixed Depeche Mode track

  • yeah noticed the song on the of it wil be use ful and combinaid with some ibiza summer disck`s and also the 4th could be an amazon remix ...

awsome is in it just corrigate the little miss step on the end . corrigate this ...

  • i noticed that you have papers above the decks saying real djs mix with music a just wanted to know what your view is on pc dj's because i used to mix with alot of pc softwares only because i couldn't aford proper decks and peaople use to always say your not real dj because the software would SYNC all the tracks i just wanted to know what your view is on pc djs or djs who use DJ software controller thanx and keep up the gud vids
  • well take a guess

  • 1 wots that suppose 2 me

and 2 i wernt asking you anyway

  • 1. sure you wasn't asking me but do you think ellaskin hasn't anything better to do then answering questions wich answers are so clear?

all he would say is that it does not matter what you use to dj..and thats what the papers say, so your question wasn't really necessary.

    2. learn how to spell

  • its call short hand

  • DJs have an elevated status to everyone else who just 'listens' to music and might know the difference between a good track and a great track. The reason they get this extra respect is because they have skills greater than your average joe bloe, in terms of their ability to entertain. Most of the entertainment comes from the crowd knowing that there is some level of skill involved with what the DJ is doing. Did you have skill doing mixes on a PC? If so, you deserve respect. If not, you don't.

  • and everyone deserves bananas :)

  • i would go bananas if I mixed hard trance, its for gorillas.

  • gorillas who can dance really well :)

  • thanx

    for the reply

it was worth readin unlike sum

  • as for mixing on pc - it's mostly for people liek you, who are just starting. as such, however, most people on pcs just so happen to be utter shit :) soo.... i think that explains the lack of interest/respect in people who dj on pc. but if you can dj really well it doesn't matter what you use... (provided that you don't have half of the work done my the computer..... cough cheating cough cough).

pc is a good starting point... but why would u WANT to get good at only mixing on computer?

  • why???what a question...haha

are you dj?you not thats the point...

  • well if you're good at mixing on vinyl/cd players, if u then jump on the pc, you'd just need to learn the layout of the software. but if you get good at using pc software, then you'd still have a lot of work to do to get good at playing cd's or vinyl.

because the pc does everything for you

  • heh I know exactly what you're saying. I have traktor and a Vestax VCI-100 controller but it gets boring after a while as it's way too easy, the computer does all the work 90% of the time.

I've just invested in a pair of 1210s as I'd like to actually learn a new skill rather than learning to press the sync button.

  • this is basic!! vaya telaa

  • awesome mix!!!

  • LOVE THE POSTINGS ON PAPER,HAHAH

  • Simply perfect and lovely :D

    Nice done J!

Loved the "Real Dj's Play with?" thingy hehe

    Tottally agree

  • play with themselves haha

  • You rock man! :))

  • that's some nice mixing!, nice hat by the way :p

  • dude you are one of th best DJ's ever!

  • I never look at waveforms... I just make shure i know my records and rely on that. Mixing is a 'feeling thing' and looking at waveforms makes you a theoretical dj wich is never a good thing with music. To be a good dj you have to be able to think out of the box with 4/8/16 bars as foundation, and sometimes pray for a good transition when you boldly start the transition in a break...

  • Hahahah your face when the Acapella swears is fucking priceless man hahaha

  • this is really very good mix lesson Jonathan!

  • cool stuff!

  • Those things are called "locked grooves" on them vinyls.

Also when mixing in acapellas bare in mind if it's in key or not, so many dj's drop them out of key and it sounds pants

Worth mentioning also that some acapellas have a click track which makes getting them in time a lot easier, good post :-)

  • Jonathan, please make a video explaining how to visually see the sound coming from your players like CDJ-800 & CDJ-1000, is there a unit that does this? Is it possible with the CDJ-400?

  • Ive looked up in the manual of the CDJ400 but I didnt find any point about it ... I guess its not implemented within them, if you look on the display, there seems not to be enouth space for a song-graphic. You could check out some KAOS-Pads or fx machines for mixers, maybe they can show graphics. Good luck dude

  • Thanx mate, I'll let you know if I find anything ;)

  • With a CDJ 1000 you have a Waveform Display and you can see the structure of the Video, like on Traktor 3, Scratch live...etc.The 800 and 400 don´t have the Wave Display.

Hope it helped. J has done a Video against the CDJ 1000 and the Waveform Display and the structure of the Music.

    Practise and N Joy

  • Thank you, do you know if there are any separate units that display waveforms other than pcs?

  • Are you trying to visually beat match?

  • Yes.

  • But the CDJ 400 has a bpm reader right? So why dont you just use that?

  • because real DJ's dont use BPM counters...duhh!

  • Real djs play with music and make the audience dance.

  • ahuh! correct!

  • why are u so keen to see the waveform?

  • The reason that I so badly want to see it is because I want to know what's next, I mean on a mp3 with 100 tracks I can't possibly remember the way all individual tracks are built. With a unit which displays waveforms I can see a couple of seconds ahead which will probably save my ass from putting the transition at the wrong time.

  • or you could listen to the song over and over again, and youll know the song even better....which leads to some amazing acapella mixing.

trust me,i used to really to heavily on the waveform, but i still like it,its still cool.

but its nice to know a song inside out, back to front.real nice.

  • oh rite, thats a very valid point!

  • Hi,

i don´t think, there are units out there, to show you the structure of the Music, because, when the CD is in your Player, the unit must be compatible to your Player to analyze it.So, i think, the only way is DJ Software or like the CDJ 1000 with Waveform Display.

But,what you can do is,to count the Bars and notice it on the Cover of the CD. So, you know, after 4 Bars comes the Melody in, after 8 Bars comes the Vocals in...etc.For the perfekt Mix,is a need to spin the Track back

  • and then you know, in 8 Bars began the Vocals of this Song and then they will set perfect togeather. It´s a lot of work, but it works.

Or you make it with DJ Software, you can set Markers and know, when the Vocals...etc. begin.

  • Hey Johnutter, would be cool if you do a lounge again. Or some Mr Safety videos, didnt see that guy for quiete a long time and I could need some advice how to STAY SAFE !

    Have fun ;)

    F

  • Mixing acapellas is all about having the beat inside yourself.

If you havnt got that, you cant mix acapellas.

  • Good explanation. People should bear in mind, though, that vinyl records with loops are limited by rpm and bpm range. Vinyl loops are very useful but you must enjoy and practice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice tutorial! Really easy to understand and very informative. Looking forward to the next one :)

  • yes thank you

  • woo first comment keep it up ellaskins
