Great live version of this song.................taught this to my kids in elementary school trying to show the use of imagery and storytelling, only to realize my mistake when they did it at school very well! Now in their 20's they still love this song to pieces! Nassau Coliseum in 1979........awesome show with the Stray Cats!

In twenty plus years on radio , I never used a non-Louisiana song as my theme song, but when I was on WGSO 990 AM I used the original cut of this song as it is in my opinion, very appropo of what we deal with everyday and it's just a great POP song!...This is the LIVE version "Tempted" by Squeeze. @TheBrassHole Although Paul Carrick sang the original version, he was part of Squeeze at the time and as Difford and Tillbrokk wrote the song, they are more than entitled to play it at a Squeeze gig

@simon57601 Paul Carrick..who wasn't actually ever a member of the band sang the song on the albulm by accedent. He was warming up in the studio before the session and Difford and Tillbrook heard it and asked him to sing it.. the rest is history. This is actually how I think the song would have sounded if Carrick didn't sing it.. more like squeeze used to sound like...very cool
