Everyone who does martial arts knows that although in practice you do beautiful techniques accurately with style and panache, in actually fights it looks messy and nasty and techniques cannot be performed 'textbook'. Fighting is not a pretty event and everyone seems to know this except judoka, who, seeing a person win by (skillfully) grabbing what they can and (skillfully) manipulating balance then endlessly debate which 'textbook' technique it is or isn't. Fights don't follow textbook rules!!!
You know gymnastics cartwheel? so if you coaching in Japanese language, then gymnastic element which we call on English CARTWHEEL should be called TE GURUMA.
If blue wrestler grub leg bit lower then it would be an ankle pick (kibisu gaeshi).
By the way, KIBISU GAESHI not make biomechanical sense as ankle pick to.
So if you teach ABRACDABRA you performing like ABRACADABRA
I never say it “single leg rotational flip” it is “single leg Drive crush” … and it is prohibited by new rules any way …. End of story . .... so it no use for Olympic Judo.
you bet. you can't say it's a te guruma because he gripped the gi at the front instead of going around the leg. it's got nothing to do with that. you can throw it both ways. it's neither te guruma nor sukui nage (definitly not).
he grips koshiki daoshi, but he throws it as you would throw a te guruma.
It worked.

it is 200% not TE GURUMA,
it is single leg under knee pic crash. simpler to heel pick drive , but grapping knee level.
TE GURUMA - is SINGLE LEG LIFT and FOLOWING FLIPING TURN in HIGH air. - it is not what in video.
It is nice drive but not teguruma even close.
To much Japanese language make you brain not work properly in biomechanical sense.

It's a variation

variation of "ANKLE PICK" (KIBISU GAESHI )?
TE(jpn) Hand(eng)
GIRUMA(jpn) WHEEL(eng)

@NZSambo I agree. There was a hand and a wheel motion involved. Looks like a te guruma to me.

I think it is te guruma, just instead of going around the back of the leg he grips the gi at the front.

that was a really stupid comment.

Not half as stupid as yours.

The way I (and many) have been taught te guruma is only going around the leg, therefore that's my only point of reference. Who cares.

Te Guruma deffo
look at the way he lands it
if he scoops him then he is doing Sukui Nage
