Didn't you try popin off the heads of each figure and put them on the other. Hence try to see old Cloud's head on Advent Children body and Advent Children Cloud's head on game version since Crisis Core Cloud looks the same in Advent Children.

Just blame Squar-Enix for messing up faces. In fact I couldn't tell difference from Tifa between her game version and her AC version. AC had her face more thin than the game version and her hair is shorter in AC.
