If it weren't for the fact that we know that Shingu - Secret of the Stellar Wars is a science fiction cartoon, I would have assumed that it was just a cartoon about the lives of middle schoolers based on the opening and its theme song.

Opening theme to my favorite amine of all time. The story line is completely awesome, although a few questions don't get answered, (Muryuo Subaru's origin, anyone)?? Otherwise, a very addicting anime to watch. Hajime plays a wonderful protagonist in the series. Hope to see a continuation series sometime!

He was a being like the original Shingu, the magister and the third guy. He was just born on Earth, or something similar. Basically that's it, I think. He was one of the clan of the alien descendants (relatives to the original Shingu), and their blood-line holds the possibility of attaining massive power like the Shinguoid thingies in the wars had.

This, on the other hand, is beautiful. Now that I've heard the real opening to this anime, I love it.

Actually the fact that it's NOT like Eva is what makes me love this show. While Eva dwells on the religious and dark sides of life, and Shingu is just something you can sit back and enjoy for what it is.
