  • Those 98 under mustang GT's suck 98 camaro V6's will run them like its a pile of shit. Even 90's non ///M Bmw's will shit on them get a Cobra then or a Foxbody 5.0 the 94-98 stangs are junk. 99-04 stang GT's are equal to LT1's in 1/4mile but not a LS1.

  • That was also a '96 - '98 215hp 4.6 with auto trans. Just about the slowest V8 Mustang of all time. I got beat in my friend's '96 GT 5 spd manual with cold air intake and full exhaust by a beat-down '95 GT... Not meaning to diss your car, just saying that it's one of the worst examples to use as a comparison and say "got beat by a focus". It would take probably a 100 hp shot in the focus to hang with a 1999-2010 GT 5 spd.

  • @gtdrummerdude Yeah but its still impressive to see that 130 horsepower stock Duratec with automatic trans (so figure parasitic hp loss) still beat the Mustang.

    I just bought a 100 shot for my 07 ST.

  • @0220SVTFOCUS Yes a very shitty low-output V8 vs a high-output 4 cylinder. And I purposely grouped the 4th and 5th generation together asshole because they are about the same in terms of performance. As soon as your car has an engine, transmission, and rear end that you built yourself in your garage from bare castings up to complete assemblies AND you've been racing for years, then you can talk. Until then you're just another bench racing moron that thinks a Focus is a race car.

  • @simmons3d if that were the case the 97 and 98 would be too since they were all 3 NPI and the 98 only had 10 more hp. they were definantly tamed to be a v8 stang, but they have tons of potential, just expensive to build. mod motors FTL pushrod FTW

  • to find the fuel line just trace it from the fuel rail back i removed both ends and added them to a ruber hose with a set of brass fitings for the tap that goes to the fuel sianoid for the nos kit and i ran a 75shot on my 05 focus

  • one more question.....I was wondering if you had any transmission issues feeding it that 50 shot. Wayyyyy back in 2002 fast fords mag did the red chili pepper focus project and gave it that 75 pill in it's face and it didnt turn out to well on the trans. Didnt know what to do with it's gears afterwards. Notice any shifting issue on the 08 trans after feeding it the 50 shot?

  • I have a 2008 Ford Focus I am trying to figure out where you pulled the fuel from the fuel line at and what kind of fitting to use. I am spaying my focus with a 50shot as well but have no idea where to tap the fuel from

  • @whmoore185 You can use a fuel rail adapter from NX. Part number 16190. It just plugs inbetween the fuel line and fuel rail. It has 2 ports to gain access for the nitrous system, you can also use the other for a gauge or something.

  • @whmoore185 Use a dry kit with fogger nozzle and let the MAF correct the a/f ratio.

  • @whmoore185 yea you really don't want to use a dry kit on the focus, it has no way to compensate (w/o tuning) some have done it with but most have blown motors. get the NX fuel adapter and possibly a nitrous tune from FSwerks

  • @whmoore185 splice a "T" into your fuel line. Pretty simple.

  • @northwestshredsesh its actually a SOHC with an iron block, 2 cams but only one per head so it makes it a single overhead cam and yes they are the worst engines ever but nice comparo, well done

  • i love this video and iv posted before about my nitrous kit and i love it iv put the 75hp shots in my zx3 and it is so fast iv beaten nice BMW m3's and a few other fast cars because 140 + 75 + 10 for intake + 10 for after market muffler ='s 235 hp so thats a lot of power for a light car.. i would recommend a nitrous kit to any focus owner but i would stay with 35 to 50 hp shots tho because i blew my stock clutch but i already had a stage 3 waiting to be put in :)

  • Every part you put on affects the hp rating of the other. I guarantee if you put it on the dyno it will not add up to 235 HP.

  • This is a 94-98 mustang 4.6 dohc cast iron block. Nothing special about those cars at all. I love mustangs but I know your dealing with the weakest v8 they have had for a long time. Cobra 4.6 dohc all aluminum block is a way differant story though ;)

  • Those are a 2.0 duratec DOHC made from mazda ZOOM ZOOM 140hp stock so add 50hp that's 190hp to beat a 96 mustang gt, I think I'm going to get nos kit for my car for 80hp

  • they are 2.0 duratec dohc but the duratec line of engines was designed by ford, ford has been using duratecs in europe for a while now, the svt contour in the 90's had a 2.5 duratec v6. ford was the parent company of mazda until this year, so ford and mazda share engines and platforms, but they are tuned diferent.

  • @zesty69boy i cant wait till i get my car... look up "351w sa rx-7" spell like that without quotes its a 11.2 sec 1/4 mile v8 rx7 that weighs in about 2,500 lbs without driver... and has roll cage and everything and a bottle of nitrous to get it into the 10's... ;)

  • OH yea i finally put mine on and sprayed a 35shot tonight and i freaking love it LOL!!! Im going to put the 50 in cause it did well with the 35 it should be a blast after that. What size shot are you running?

  • i was running a 50shot but now i put in the 75shot just for a little more edge and it runs great with it i have had no problems once so ever but i might go back to the 50 just to be safe

  • Dang thats a good size shot with 75! But thats cool i can imagine how quick it is. I put the 50 in my car and it ran great but when i pulled the plugs all on them looked, but on cylinder 4 there was oil in it. So idk what to do now i started it and it smoked for a sec but after that its been fine. So i wondering if i should spray it again or go heavier oil and colder plugs im not sure yet.

  • yha i would watch out that sound like a piston ring problem make sure you watch how high your reving your motor too

  • Yea i have been watching it, i only rev it to about 6300 and the car redlines at 7 so not to high. However i did change the oil, and ran a colder plug. I took it to the track lastnight and it ran great! Between each run i pulled the plug and it was all clear so hopefull y i have solved the problem. my best time was 9.960 at 73mph 1/8 mile. it was a blast people were like holy shit what you have done to that lol.

  • naa i ran my stick non svt focus with i.h.e.pulleys.tb. 75 shot and it brings me to 130 pretty quick, true its not as good as boost on s/c on top end but its instant power that goes all the way. it just isnt too safe to do a 20-140 run on bottle, thats pushing the motor. long as you have cold sprk plugs, a good tune for the nitrous and the fuel adapter for the nitrous you should be fine. but nice, a 50 shot made over 5-7 cars difference. watch my vids! focus zx3 racing, prt 1 and 2.

  • nitrous works different for every car, for example lets say you race a stock mustang gt vs a stock focus on a 40 roll, mustang wins by 5 cars, put a 100 shot on both cars with the sct tune which ford makes for both cars. the focus will win.

    seen it, done it. have gone to ford meets at cfm. nitrous works well for focuses,

    but yeah focuses arent the best car choices, I only like them because when people lose to them they go crazy. only reason I have 1, but yeah its no where near stock,
