@ElAye I was thinking the same thing. I notice that Unsung is becoming more cookie cutter and vague with information just like VH1's Behind The Music after a few years. But, for the record, Vesta's first album was, indeed, a success. She got a bigger budget for the second album and good promotion. BUT, (and this is where Unsung confuses viewers), A&M did not pull the plug on the album--they, simply, did not put it on the Pop promotion roster.
Does anyone else out there love the song "RUNNING INTO MEMORIES" from this album? Nice , nice production work......similar to the gorgeous ballad "Star" on Dee Harvey's only project. I think the lady behind the glory's name is Teena Clarke and I wish to God I knew what other wonderful music she has made.
Chaka Khan is her mentor - that's why you hear the similarities. Yet Vesta has her own thing going on too - no doubt. Fire-power vocals, funny, yeah. She's a great writer/producer/arranger too. Love me some CK, Vesta, Penny Ford, Meli'sa Morgan. They all sang back-up or background on CK projects & site her as their mentor.

This song was "Fire" back in 1989 ! This was the album with "Congratulations" on it. She always reminded me of Chaka Khan.
