They all work for Comedy Central (Dave not anymore but he made his fortune and he still does this because he loves it) and they curse because comics are usually frustated with the world and cannot hold it in. Comics look at the world very differently than people like you. I doubt you have ever questioned anything in your whole life.

@DevilDogGR I agree. I think it's hard for people who are Christian to be funny. The timing is bad and there is a level of conformity. A great comic doesn't deal with that shit and just finds a way to see the world through their eyes and hope people relate to what that person is saying. Also the line is different for great comics.

None of my friends were christians, my family was but i always resisted, because it had to be my own decision, it had to come from me. Which is very true, it's not about putting up a good show like other faiths do. It's not about good works and appearance, it's about admitting your a sinner and that Jesus is the only one who can help with that.

Nothing to do with conforming to a group or to rituals.

@RenegadeMaster07 When i was younger time and time again I had the opportunity to conform with everybody else and time and time again i resisted that, and i was always proved right to do so.

What i was careful of though, was that I wasn't resisting for the sake of not conforming. If it was actually a bad decision for me, and the right decision happens to be the same as the crowd well that's not gonna be my problem.

As for what you did say, I was talking about religions who measure on external works as a basis. You don't even have to believe in God and you could be as much a part of those religions as anyone else, because you do the works.

In christianity we are saved by grace through faith, and not of works lest any man should boast.

It's impossible to conform to being a christian unless everyone you know is a christian. That would be conforming if you decided to do it because they were. Which also makes and redundant.

If christian was law based then perhaps it would be conforming.

So it wasn't MacArthur trying to make this man feel bad, it wasn't him trying to enforce his own beliefs on this man, what he was doing though was addressing the logical problem of being both christian and a practicing homosexual.
