Great video but... oh god I hate it when they allow a synth

to immitate a symphonic orchestra!!! Specially on those

productions... While the compose is very good, the

perfomance of the synth though makes it cheap!

They should have paid a real orchestra to record this

theme but someone stole the money when greek people

paid hard for that ceremony!

Brings back memories of when I visited there last summer. Athens, the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, Meteora...such a beautiful country. It's such a shame that they have their current financial problems. Still, if given the chance, I would love to go back, although preferably during a calmer time.

At that time Lord Elgin was the British ambassador to the Ottoman Empire. By giving money and other gifts to the turkish authorities he gained permission to use giant saws and other tools to tear from the temple (causing terrible damage to the edifice) half of the sculptures from the temple frieze.

Unfortunately I can't, at least by now. Because the OC and the CC are recorded at VHS and I don't know how to pass than to the PC, but I want someday to try it.

I recorded it from Rede Globo, but surprisingly it is great, the narration with Galvão Bueno, Glória Maria and Marcos Uschoa. I think the Athens OC and CC narrated by them was much better than the Beijing broadcast.

But that'd be great to have it in YouTube in Portuguese.
