  • Used to have this on Amstrad when I was younger and discovered if you mashed the keyboard it was possible to make the blood red and flow from the head rather than just appear and blue.

  • contains all the fighting moves you'll ever need lol....

  • lol you knee them in the balls and their brains fall out?????

  • Best Renegade version ever!

  • Best 8-bit version it seems, although the Spectrum128 game did have the throw move and an extra tune.

  • At the time l had a green monitor for CPC6128 so thought the babe level the boss was a fat dude

  • I completed this game when I was 6 lol

  • This game was great enjoyed playing this when I was 6

  • that music at the start has been in my head for decades

  • There was a cheat code you doule put in to get red blood.

  • hahaha who the fuck gave that guy a gun???

  • not sure if anyone has mentioned but you could've killed the last boss when he was down to 2 health bars by punching him on the ground

  • I didn't know the Amstrad was Stereo!

  • :D This was the first A M S T R A D C P C game I ever worked on (I did G r y z o r too). The blue blood is in there because there had just been a terrible shooting and violent games were getting a lot of scrutiny at the time. So it's not blood, you've just knocked the snot out of them. ;) I had great fun with those graphics.

  • @mjonesgraphics Your graphics make me dream when I was young ... And again today.

For a first work on CPC, it's just outstanding !!! (love Stormlord on Amiga too)

Sure, you are definitely the best of the 8/16-bit generation. Thank you a thousand times Mark !

  • This is a classic. Me and my brother fighting for room at either side of the keyboard. If you completed the game it started you off on level 1 again. I remember completing it twice in a row just to take the piss. : )

  • This was my favourite amstrad game. Loved how you could pound on them when they were on the floor.

  • i used to love this sneaky little game, im sure in the instruction manual it stated that the butch looking boss of the third level was named big bad bertha. i remember that i really used to feel displeasure at that crafty little sod with the gun, i think his mame might of been susan draper perhaps...

  • Ah the memories...i remember this game being tricky tho because u had to use the joystick and the arrow keys on the keyboard, good days!

  • heys his girl in the end.....she looks like a nurse!

  • lol blue blood!

  • It's hard to believe Imagine software made a better arcade port of Renegade than the original developer themselves, Technos!

Just try playing the NES version of Renegade. Try.

  • Great graphics, gameplay and music. The Imagine guys were pretty good on the CPC.

  • How do you recorded this vid? Fraps? I have an emulator of Amstrad CPC but I haven't been able to record anything.

    Amazing video indeed !

  • Hi.

I recorded this using the popular WinAPE emulator. (it has a very convenient built-in option for capturing gameplay videos).

  • Haha I love the way you finish off the big bitch.

  • anybody remember renegade3 ? now that was a letdown

  • One of the great games on Amstrad cpc...

Thanks for the video : )

  • i could only ever get to level 4 and then kept getting bitch slapped. nice to see how to beat it!

  • The graphics on this are better than the arcade's. Its just a shame the game didnt have the arcade's level of difficulty, I think I completed this on the 2nd go.

I also missed having the "throw" move :)

  • i loved this game - used to be the best thing on the amstrad at the time. Once completed though it would just put you back to the start again - think I went round it about five times once before the computer overheated! Quality!

  • this was an awsome game and target renagade

  • this was actually better than the arcade version!!!

  • Lol @ big bertha

  • mash the keyboard with both hands pressing as many keys as possible to activate the BLOOD turning from blue to red and it runs out

  • man thanks I had this game as a kid and had not been able to finish it at the time

a wound is now closed.. :)

  • me also i had not been able to finish it at the time ,i always fighted by the big pimp !

  • Dannan nahn nahn nahn nahn nahn nahn

  • i love in the cpc versions how he garbs her ass ! lol

  • how do u back kick three enemies at once and not get hit ????

ah the good old days of cpc gaming....

silly censors and the blue blood.... but that was fixed hehe

awesome tune and great GFX but i remember u had to use space bar to jump wat a dog manovure.....

howd u beat those bitches so quickly took me 4eva to smash big bertha and her hoes....???

pheeeww u missed by one bar to defeat end of game bosss b4 time ran out so unlucky

  • no space bar to jump on the speccy version, up and fire

  • Sorry man. My fault!! Was in a bit of a hurry...Second time watching it...GREAT!!!U rule.

  • Cool video man! But no smashing faces while lying down? WTF????? Greatest move Renegade has to offer!!!!

  • was the blue blood a programming error?????

  • There's not supposed to be any blood in it any way, when they get knocked out, stars ring around their head.

  • I remember this game - I used to love it. Funny thing is can you imagine a game now that took around 8 minutes to play from end to end!

  • IMAGINE being the operative word ;)

  • u lose once

  • Yeah, sorry about that. I was fooling around a bit too much, and let time expire...

  • Knee him in the nuts!!! I ve been looking for the c64 version on u tube and no luck. Then i remember the amstrad version and here it is!! This game was cool.I loved it!Excellent!!!Watch out for big Bertha!!

  • One of the best games for the cpc.

  • Brits are still making the best games today. Rockstar games for example.

  • Too violent for me!! ;-)

  • Wow - Amstrad version looked *great* with superb animation. Never seen it in motion before!

  • just for info: in the french version the blood was red...

it was a very good game...

  • Yeah, on the English CPC version you had to depress all game keys simulatneously to activate the red blood. Also if you knelt down to head punch the prostitutes when they were prone on the subsequent repeat levels the game would crash. Classic game.

  • i had this on my old amstrad took me a few hours to complete i was gutted when i completed it i liked it so much

  • Good vid man!! love renegade series on amstrad...target renegade was the second of the series(not this one), but seems poorly in graphics than this one... supossed to be the first part of series...

  • Swstos megale... vgale kai to target renegate ;)

  • It's not Imagine's, it's Taito's! Imagine is only the US distributor, please get this straight.

American companies can't really make games like this, even in that early stage.

Please get this straight in your head too.

  • This video is from the *European CPC computer version*, so you're wrong, it's *very* much Imagine's (which was already under Ocean Software at the time).

We're talking about the British "Imagine Software" company here - you may want to look it up in wikipedia.

Taito had nothing to do with the CPC computer version in terms of programming. They were involved with the arcade & console versions.
