  • Your a legend! Go on Vincent Brown.

  • Good man Vincent!

  • The Irish taxpayers are paying the banks for the developer's bad loans guaranteed by the Soldier of Destiny government. This has lead to risk of sovereign default. The taxpayers must borrow from the same banks the same money that they have paid and more to stave off this threat, all at high interest rates.

If any payment is more than five days late interest will be charged on the interest due.

Further default leads to interest charges on the extra interest!

  • Justice Minister Dermot Ahern will be able to retire with a total package worth €308,000 -- thanks to a law introduced by former finance minister Charlie McCreevy.

His annual pension of €129,000 alone will be worth more the basic €92,672 salary to which he would have been entitled if elected as a backbench opposition TD at the next General Election.(Irish Independent).

Two Aherns & McDaid grab as much as possible from the taxpayers as they lead the mob out

  • The banksters are acting as loan sharks, through weak, corrupt, incompetent politicians and Finance Dept.officials.

Taxpayers debt is ever increasing and the loan sharks intend that they should pay forever as much as can be squeezed out of them.

Banks were lending sums far in excess of 100% of their deposit income.

These legal loan sharking & pyramid schemes are operated at taxpayer's expense!

  • what a waffler

  • I think Bertie deserves more abuse than fatso there.

  • 'The national interest' is a term that Cowan should not be allowed to use anymore. Im sick of hearing the responsible parties useing it reinforce their fuckin stupid decisions to drastically and not graduadlly make cuts.

  • "I will run the government as I see fit"-Soldier of Destiny Cowen.

Hope can only return with political & governmental reform.

    Use your votes!

  • Congradulations Cowen you have made it into the Guinness Book of F**k ups!!!

  • CUT THE MAXIMUM WAGE. IT'S CLEAR THAT NONE OF THEM ARE WORTH IT.

  • @2LisbonTreaty *Minimum Wage

  • Brian Cowan and the other Brian are FF first and foremost. Every decision will be taken from that viewpoint " whats good for FF." If you had monkeys in a room you could have hardly have come up with worse management.

Plus they dont even realise they have dreadful judgement. Thats scary.

  • @MrJohnnycoyle your comment has been removed because of abuse towards ours > Please put your points and comments without abusing or insluting others or your comment will be removed and you will be banned .

  • @MrJohnnycoyle: Is an illiterate troll with a 'bot on his channel. Best to avoid!

  • complain to RTE i sent them emails already

  • hmm i say fair play to Vincent Brown and also thank god for TV3 that has given us the Vincent brown show, vincent has been the ownly one to say what everyone has and is thinking we re getting the rawest deal out of this also why is there suddenly HUGE pressure to take imf funds we got cash to last til the middle of next year so why all the pressure.and why are irish tax payers being not told anything.secret meetings not for public knowledge.its like a movie sub plot.

  • Thank you Vincent for being the only journalist with the balls to challenge this biffo. RTE be damned. Lets all follow Eric Cantona's lead and show the banks and the IMF who really has the power on December 7th

  • Any idiot can realise that when your wrong ... your wrong. Obviously Brien Cowen can see no wrong . God help Ireland ...

  • @4sureful FUCK U

  • @MrJohnnycoyle: Is a troll with perhaps some computer skills! Best to ignore!

  • Vincent Brown kicks ass completely!!! He ripped Cowen to shreds. Thank you Vincent for asking the questions other journalists were too coward to ask. You're a true patriot and long may you keep on putting these criminals in their place.

  • one ugly bafoon

  • We the Irish people (in a free and fair election) voted in FF two years ago. I hear you say "I didn't ..." Maybe 'you' didn't but 'we' did. It's time to accept responsibility as a nation of collectively re-electing FF 2 years ago and 14 year prior to that. I don't know who to protest against. I'm angry at myself.

  • @liammulkeen And now ...I'm going to have to listen to people who didn't even vote go complaining to Joe Duffy and making a lot of noise. That's going to be the worst part for me I think. And FF will get back into power in 3-4 years when the austerity government collapses under the pressure its need to be auster and it need to get re-elected. Multi seat constituencies, Single transferable votes brought us here. we need a better system.

  • I used to hate Vincent Brown...until the recession. Go Vincent!

  • I agree the World and European elite will dictate all directions what ever it will cost the Irish people. Where ever they sat their feet they used same formula.

We Greeks have never seen a paper of what our Government have signed. We struggle for life. We don't give up. We all live in a modern slavery more barbaric than the older ones. We are all chained under their economic interest.

I wish COURAGE to Irish People.

  • Greetings from Greece. We are also suffering from the dictatorship of the IMF. I want to wish the Irish people all the best and urge them not to despair, not to be cowed by the bullshit of the politicians, not to bow to the elites.Cowen lies when he says that IMF will not dictate policy. In Greece the state-budget was literally drafted by IMF bureaucrats.Only popular resistance can stop them,it is the only thing they fear.European working-people should coordinate their resistance.IMF out!Good luck!

  • lier, lier, lier, lier, lier, lier, lier, lier, lier, lier, lier, lier,....get out now Cowen now and take that shower of fat cats with you. Will somebody tell me what will the government spend this IMF/EU money on? Are they to give it to the banks who inturn will return it back to international banks to keep France, Germany and the UK happy and enslave the Irish people. Another Flight of the Wild Geese, the Irish are once again to be flung around the world to enrich other nations. God help us!!

  • @IrlDave71 The IMF money is only going to pay back the EU banks. So AIB/BOI are off the hook, but now the tax payer owes this monstrous debt back to the IMF and the EU stability fund. This money was never intended for the Irish people or the Irish economy.

  • good man there Vinny B....you stick it to the fecker. Up Broadford

  • The world's biggest credit rating agency, Moody's Investors Service, said the EU/IMF bank rescue plan would simply shift more of the burden of support for Irish banks from the ECB to the Irish taxpayer, and worsen the country's debt problems. (Irish Independent. 23/11/10)

  • FUCK YES!!!!! Got to be THE BEST interview ive ever seen.

  • Comment removed

  • fat bastard, he doesnt actually know what he is doing

  • your debates are becoming pointless. the next couple of generations will be cursing this one. fucking sheep.

  • The problem with Brian Cowen is not so much the mistakes he's made (although there are so many its ridiculous), the problem is his lack of leadership, doesnt give interviews, doesnt apologise over ANYTHING, lacks a connection with the people, no emotion, no energy, so stirring speeches...nothing, and generally comes across as a smug snake. He is the on of the main reason politicians have a bad name....

  • Vincent's questions are entirely in order. Cowen was Ahern's Finance Minister before being appointed Prime Minister

McCreevy was the previous finance minister, whose insistence on tax cuts, public spending cuts and lack of regulation ensured that the Celtic Tiger became an uncontrolled asset bubble

Many comments on Youtube complain that there were no opposing voices to FF economic policies

Garret Fitzgerald, Vincent Browne, Fintan O'Toole, Morgan Kelly and others were scorned for so doing!

  • @surveyofsociety I am self employed and therefore I am not entitled to any social welfare even though I regularly go months without any income whatsover. Having just done my tax return I can tell you that what I earned last year was less than if I had a full time job with minimum wage. I have a mortgage with a house that I can never sell unless I come up with 50k to pay the negative equity, so don't give me that nonsense that I dont know what Im talking about unless Im on the dole.

  • has anyone noticed that part of the problem is that the public keep voting FF in!

  • @Casanovamorris I think you must be mistaken ...No now that you mention it, .... it does seem a bit odd . Irish people must want this then.

    Charles Haughey (1979–1992)

    Albert Reynolds (1992–1994)

    Bertie Ahern (1994–2008)

    Brian Cowen (2008–present)

  • this government is asleep at the wheel, a total disgrace and if there not telling us lies then there hiding the truth as they have been for the last 2 years, lets get these wasters out NOW,they have lined there pockets for years while we take cut after cut and live on nothing , im ashamed to say im irish because these lazy fuckers have dragged us back to the 1950s .

  • @Beedge72 I trust you don't need social welfare and aren't struggling on min wage?

  • As Garrett Fitzgerald tried in vain to point out on numerous occasions the other night, Vincent Browne is a big old bag of 'Populist Rhetoric'. I'm no Brian Cowen apologist, he has to go, but Browne is an idiot...

  • Fair play to you Vincent, if Mohammad doesn't come to the mountain...

  • Thank you Vincent...RTE are spineless..not one of them asked any difficult questions..and they cut the feed halfway through..another joke Irish organisation..cut the shit out of it..itll be no loss

  • @theadventuresof windy

Agreed, dump RTE straight away...An organisation that receives both a government subsidy (TV Licence) and revenue from advertisements, yet I ( and I suspect most people here in Ireland) have to watch Ulster television/BBC1 to find out what the F**K is happening in Ireland!

  • Cowen, you and your party of morons are the kiss of death, in gods name GO!!

  • 'you are only as sick as the things you hide'

Cowen seems like a very sick man

  • vincent browne for taoiseach

  • Vincent Browne is a total legend, it's about time someone told Cowen that he is a coward and needs to step down, he has sold out his country and has disgraced this great nation

  • Cowen et al are a disgrace and should be done for economic treason, sold out Ireland, shame on them, but they know no shame and take no blame. Some patriots, thats the Republican party for you.

  • @MsJulieboolie Brain cowan is a filthy dirty criminal of the highest order.

  • Good man Vincent but let's stay positive people we are a strong resilient race :)

  • Was Biffo on Drugs? He sounded much better than he did on the infamous radio interview . What a fucking jerk

  • good man vincent
