@cartoonkid1988 You've seen better transformations than that *during the same movie*-- see the transforming of Eddie Quist earlier in the movie for evidence of that. But since that was also *really* gross (and seeing how we're supposed to see Karen as tragic and sympathetic rather than out-and-out evil like he was), I suppose they wanted to have Karen transform offscreen, in addition to making her --overall-- less monstrous than the others were.
