  • @29cpnj oar - this town

  • I grew up in Painesville and loved it. It is not quite the same anymore and that is why I only come back to visit family then go back home. Usually the same day. I loved the video though.

  • What a beautiful video. Painesville really is a wonderful place to live. I was born and raised here and continue to make my home in Painesville. This video really captures the beauty of this area. And, it also captures the fun we have here as a community.

  • What a nice suprise when a friend pointed out our twin boys made the video from when we walked the parade last year! Any way to get a copy? Very nice video and well done!

  • Great video... fun to see familiar faces and places!

  • @clevelandrockscity Riverside Rocks! Especially our Regiment!

  • Nice job. Interesting comment re: the lack of cultural diversity in the video. Good point.

Riverside will kick Harvey's a**. And I say this from Houston...

  • @LES3526017 I agree! I go to Riverside and i am in the Regiment

  • @LES3526017 I agree with this comment.

  • Painesville! Wasnt born here, but was raised. (:

  • i enjoyed this video, i live in painesville and i graduated from riverside high, even though both our teams were not that good for most of my high school years the riverside vs harvey games were always great games to go too and watch.

  • yup thats painesville ohio,...why do they call it painesville?

  • @aljunior624 allen paine founded it!

  • @aljunior624 It's named after the founder, Edward Paine, so Painesville means that it is Edward Paine's... ville

  • As a grad of Riverside, and a proud member of the Regiment it was nice to see that Painesville Township was not left out of this awesome video :D

  • @WooglinForever Yeah i Agree with u i love being in the regiment!

  • I grew up in P'ville as di 7 generations of my family. I'm sitting in a hotel in Kyoto, Japan watching this video. This makes me very homesick. A lovely view of a great little town. I love coming home to visit. Thanks for making this video and please add my thanks to all the current residents for sharing their smiles.

    Cheers

  • @nicholsdrama Hello Kyoto! We love Trans-Pacific Painesville Pride!

  • @nicholsdrama I grew up in Painesville, too. But it seems like the only thing that stays the same is the location. The Parmly is gone, the movie theatre is gone, the mall is gone. No more Sears, no more Newberrys, no more Harvey (the new schools look like strip malls.) And, the hospital is due to be demolished. Anyone out there remember the trolley? It's a shadow of what it used to be. It's wonderful to see 'downtownpainsville' making the most out of the city. :)

  • Great video. Not sure what justin is talking about, I saw white, latino, african american and even asian!

  • The time lapses of the courthouse and Main Street were filmed from the second floor of Morley Library. Go up there and check out the view. It's beautiful!

The sunrise shot was filmed overlooking the Grand River on MainSt/Madison Ave at the intersection of Woodworth. We got some crazy looks from the local residents when we were out there at 6am with our cameras. If you park on Woodworth, there's space south of Main/Madison to set up blankets or lawn chairs.

    Post questions. We'll answer them!

  • @downtownpainesville Great video. I lived on Newell Street and graduated from Riverside in '91 and am currently living in Atlanta. I have to ask - when did Morley Library get a new building and where is it is located? I'm coming up to visit family in a couple of weeks and want to add it to my sightseeing trip because obviously things have changed.

  • @thegreatbungholio21

They built it right where the old one was

  • nice!! great job! :)

  • Nice video! I am not from Painesville, but my husband is. One of the things I appreciate most about this city is its diversity. It has to be one of the most diverse cities in Northeast Ohio. I hope that Painesville continues to grow and develop in the future, because it has much to offer!

  • I guess Painesville only has two people of color in the town, then... typically Painesville - always talking about how diverse it is, but doesn't want to advertise it! I'm so grateful that I left...

  • @justinmgibson Did you even watch the video? It's very diverse.

  • @downtownpainesville I could see why justinmgibson said that: there's barely any show that it's diverse. painesville is very diverse, but you didn't even show much of it. there were probably only 3-7 shots of either african americans or latin americans in the video that i saw of. and i watched the video all the way through.

  • @tyrellcompton not sure what people want? did you want them to stage people? i mean they took actual footage of going ons in painesville. it wouldnt be real if they staged it just to have a equal amount of all types of people in the shots. geesh

  • @gcic420 it kinda does look staged at a few parts. i don't want it staged, but it doesn't really seem equal at all. they could've gotten more shots of diversified people walking around painesville. they could've went to the elementary, middle and high schools and would've gotten a lot more diversified shots to use in this video. and it would've worked out because they would've shown how our dress code was succeeding and how great the schools are for other people deciding to move to painesville.

  • @tyrellcompton right Tj the majority of it seems staged and i mean it looks nice but if u actually live in painesville you know its not like that. and i was like wait.... why is almost everyone in this video white i was like thats a little inaccurate. and your right about the school all that time they were showing the kids running up and down the stairs they could of had middle schoolers or something playing or showing them at school

    -bessel

  • @downtownpainesville yeah but only during the shots of highschool activities, such as football

  • @justinmgibson some people are unreal

  • @gcic420 - I'm not sure if I'm one of the people you consider to be unreal or not, but I'll say this... as diverse as the City of Painesville is, do you think that it is "real" to only show 7 seconds (please, count them) of people of color in a 3:39 video? I think you need to ask the creator of this video if this is a good representation of the town because SHE even told me that it wasn't. It sounds like you like the video of Painesville much better than what it actually is...

  • @justinmgibson Get real! Your really gonna fuss over this? If this was purposely portrayed that way then i can see where you are coming from, but do you actually believe that the creator had that intention? Seriously!

  • @justinmgibson Whether its diverse, it shouldn't matter , if anything everyone should know even though the video is more prominent with white people it doesn't mean white people come from america or are just white. Everyone has something different in them people are living like its white black and hispanic...in painesville, no there's multiple heritages, people need to stop thinking the colors .. it shouldn't matter why criticize a video b/c of that. Realize everyone is different.

  • @justinmgibson blazncaczn-

  • Nice job!

  • My family lived in Painesville from the early 1900 until 1976, when the Diamond shut down. It still feels like home even though I have lived in Texas for more of my life than I lived there...

  • Make a film for winter time?

  • I went to Riverside. What a flashback, it has been a few weeks since I have been to Painesville. :O)

  • THAT is AWESOME!! Thanks so much for all the hard work on this, ya' all! Simply wonderful!!
