i just crashed my eclipse and the insurance company gave me $2500 for it... i need to buy a new car. there is a 1996 camry with 260,000 miles on it.. the interior looks like NEW! and the outside looks AMAZING! its black no scratches or dents.. but he wants $2000 for it. should i buy it? and is it worth it? or should i buy a car with lower miles on it?
Save the money for an AGM gel battery or a TRD turbo kit makes more sense. Beware of cheap things in life. Probably wanted to sabotage your engine, which could last to 500,000 miles for your model.
I got one on my 92 camry and its a beast i blew a 6 cylinder camaro out in dat bitch da dude thout i had sumthing else in my camry but i poped my hood and he saw it was just an air filter
hah i have the same car but its a 93 same mods....except mine is a 5 speed and has a high performance exhust piping sounds nothing like a fart cannon which is beautiful
Do you know what spectre intake pipe you used? I've checked several auto parts stores, and none of them specify Camrys. And did the O2 sensors plug right in?
Yeah yeah, this car can beat that car whatever. I have a 92 Camry, don't really care about modding it out, but just curious if you notice any additional power, and if you'd thought of running a Ram Air hose to the backside of the grill. You can email me if you want. I'm just looking to squeeze a little horsepower out of what's left of the old gal.
with any intake, whether it's a cold air or short ram, you should notice a small power gain in the higher rpms but usually a loss at lower rpms. a cheapno name brand cold air intake can be found on ebay for around 30 bucks. to be completely honest a $250 intake isnt going to perform much better than a cheap no name intake if your car is n/a. after all it's only a breather mod. lol ive even seen ones made from pvc pipe
but mines dont shake like that..and mines is a v6 camry (automatic) with custom short ram intake. I usually only see manual cars shake when stepping on the gas pedal.
LOL internet tough guy, and dumbass. why are you looking at car vids and you don't even know the difference in sound from a standard, and auto. p.s. the only thing i watch is the back of your moms head bounce up and down.
haha.."Mr. Interenet tough guy?" Now I know your just a lil kid. Fucking faggot..haha..u must have ur nut sack tied up in a bunch..I said that my camry don't do what this one does..if u took the time to read carefully u would realize how much of a bitch u are. Nigga plz..ur momma's pussy is so loose because of me..I'm not talking bout 3 fingers..my whole fist man..damn..oh and ur mom is a natural head bobber..haha
I'm the little kid? sure bud, you dream about owning a camry in which every year it was produced was a piece of shit kind of like yourself. I know you're stupid i commented on your dumbass transmission question, I didn't even wanna scroll down the page to see what other dumbass shit you wrote. you don't need to prove to me you're cool, everyone thinks you're a knob. go back to the gloryhole faggot!
haha..u dissing the camry..why u checking out the vid then bitch? haha..stupid..at least i'm making somethin out of my life..unlike ur faggot ass..i see that u've seen my vids..faggot..what u beating off to it now? I don't have a 92 camry...haha..I have a 95 camry V6. U say shit bout camrys..but yo..thats one of the most dependable cars out there..i bet u rolling in a fucking civic..haha..and bitch..so don't get too horny..
i know what im talking about. read the owners manual. read a chiltons guide. the camry has a less beefed-up version of the 5sfe. but you are correct about the mr2 and celica, except that they use the 5sfe
the most horsepower a 5S-FE ever put out is 136hp, and that was in the 4th Generation Camry. If there was a 198hp version of the 5S-FE in the Celicas, people would have been swapping them into Camrys by now.
hahahahaha you said the 5-sfe... thats a OLD celica motor... dude get ur shit straight, i have the same car you do. the 5sfe is a stock 91-93 turbo celica version of our motor... it has (if i remember correctly) 198hp... if you have the 4cyl like i, we have 130hp (stock duh!) but ya nice i got the same filter, better setup
@sylphon6 The V6 of the 92-96 Camry is a 3VZ-FE and puts out 185hp and 195lbft torque smart guy. Also the 5S-FE puts out 130hp in Japan and 135hp stock in American models. Get your facts straight.
@amancini666 The '92-'93 V6 Camry in North America used the 3VZ-FE, '94 up used the 1MZ-FE (In North America). The '92-'96 in other parts of the world used the 3VZ-FE.
hey man. i have a '95 camry v6 LE. would the parts you used (8219 and 8138) work on my car? also from what i've gathered from this thread, you DO need to drill a hole for the sensor--i just want to verify that as well. Also, how did you keep teh sensor secured to the new pipe after you placed it in the hole you made for it? Thanks and cheers.
dude, nice video! =D . for a month or two now, i was wondering if that would work (the aftermarket pipe, and cone filter). now that i see it does work! im going to do that. thanks :D
Update: If you buy the pipe and have it put in the same way I have it, you need to drill a 15mm hole in the straight section of the pipe in a location where the air sensor can be hooked up.
cib002- the IAT (Intake Air Temp) sensor reads the incoming air temperature and controls how the ecu regulates the air/fuel mixture that is put into the combustion chamber... SO if you leave the sensor dangling or stick it somewhere else it might not read correctly and give you too little fuel, thus hurting performance...
question. i have the pipe but im scared to put it in. clearly the stock pipe will come right off.. but attached to the pipe is the resonator.. the little box. the spectre pipe didnt have the opening for that box.. so wut did u do with ur pipe and the resonator? did u leave it open or did u take it out? or cover it.
When I replaced only the filter, I left the resonator on, and when I replaced the pipe, I took the whole assembly out altogether, leaving only the Specter Pipe and the Specter Air Filter. I completely discarded the stock pipe and resonator.
hope you realise that by sucking hot air inside the engine compartment reduces power...that's why the stock inlet sucked air from outside the engine compartment. colder air means better performance...not just better volume intake
Got a 2.2L camry also. I'm very impressed, saving up money to fix up my camry back to stock -_- then puttin in an air intake. Just wanted to say Nice...
How much did it cost?? And where did you get it?

i really miss my 93 camry 5sfe...the thing was horribly ugly with the baby blue paint, and dents everywhere, but it was such a reliable car.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about...
The 4cyl engine IS the 5S-FE. The turbocharged celica that you're thinking about, the Celica GT-FOUR has a 3S-GTE motor, pulling ~250hp.
Besides the Camry, the 5S-FE engine was used in the early 90s Celica as well as the lower-end models of the MR-2.
