Are you going to make the call to change the OS completely? No, They like to keep their OS simple. The majority of owners/buyers like simple and easy navigation. With so many competitors changing constantly people get overwhelmed with what tablet is good for them. So simplicity + power + portability + cost = happy customer.

Hi, guy i bought my transfromer prime yesterday and it crashes 4 times and the apps sucks ass.. really im not a noob or anything like this! For the apps i do not blame asus but i used an ipad before..and it was better in any fucking way.. better apps, no crashes etc.. Sorry but the android system feels like 2 genarations behind iOs it is just sad.. i hope ICS will fix some stuff..

@C5FlyingSquad The iPad 3 might be good, but don't forget, they'd need to release a quad-core processor, but if is an A5 adpated to a quad-core, then I;d be disappointed. The only way I'd be satisfied is if Apple brought out the A6, which is expected to be quad-core. Even then, the Tegra 3 has 5 cores with one running at low clock speeds for background processing, which saves battery, and then there's the GPU, Nvidia's biggest industry.

The GPS is no longer a "recognized" feature on the Prime TF201. You'll have to get the redesigned Prime TF701 (somewhere at the end of spring) for that, which comes with a screen with more resolution and a 100$ increase.

Mine got the update yesterday. I'm a bit underwhelmed. I know it's minor, but there is no face unlock option. Also, the option to switch to desktop in the browser is hit-or-miss (it doesn't work with Facebook. Also, live wallpapers are buggy since the update. Speed/snappiness is definitely there, though. Definitely better than Honeycomb!

He didn't do a good job of explaining it but those video effects are applied in realtime - you don't import a video and then apply them. It happens while you're recording the video. It's pretty amazing.

Im pretty sure they are trying to fool us thats the TF700 the dock gives it away, it still technically the prime but the upgraded version, theres a reason why we only saw the screen, i could be wrong

@LennyChav92 The TF700 uses the same dock, and has the same OS and CPUs, so why would it matter? The only difference would be the resolution of the screen, which you wouldn't be able to tell from this video...

i think you would cause a newer dock would be made to match the style of the TF700 cause it no longer has the spun finish, but like i said im not sure, also the TF700 would fix any existing problem with the prime we have now, i love asus and the prime i plan on getting one, i just wanted to tell people that he has the lasted version of the tablet

@LennyChav92 At this point (and of course, it's just speculation at this point), I'd guess that the product shown at CES was not the final design. It may still end up having a spun metal look, and it very possibly might not. I have a feeling though that they ended up having to rush something that was functional and demonstrated the new band at the top in time for CES. I absolutely could be wrong, but I think between now and the Q2 release, it'll get polished up to possibly match the dock.

what you say is possible but the spun metal finish is a fingerprints magnet and this has the issue of the metal back blocking signals, the one shown at CES had a rubber portion to better signals and the back looked better in that fingerprints didn't have much effect as in the original, but as you say we won't know till the next couple of months

@LennyChav92 I agree with just about everything you're saying, however thanks to the ridiculous timing of it all, most early adopters are still within the return period and aren't *completely* screwed. I'm contemplating returning mine and waiting for the MeMO 370T actually... It's basically just a smaller version of the TF201 and that *might* be the sweet spot, depending on the final specs. But again, agreed: It all could change between now and the actual release!

also they will probably keep three different varitions to apply to different consumer groups and they already said for the TF101 and the TF201 in that people with different wants and needs will choose a tablet accordingly, and going up 100 dollars gives you the most master product for those that have the desire
