the raiders arent far from playoff contension. they have dicipline issues in the way they play ther run fits and ther penalty issues. the secondary also has to learn how to contest passes so qb like rodgers dont have a great day against them. ther not far from contension ide say 2 seasons max and they will be a playoff worthy team because they are not lacking talent on either side of the ball

@sickguitarist100 Yeah I can agree, but when it comes down to it just like every team in the afc west except for the chargers don't have a chance against the packers or any "elite" team really. I am not trying to dick ride san diego but you have to admit at this point they are the only team that has a chance at any superbowl run in that whole division.

@cole1561 that is true. but i do think the picture in the west is changing. the chargers arent as good as they once were and oakland is finally becoming a team instead of a doormatt. they did have some bad games this last season but they also beat some good teams such as the texans. they just werent consitent. teams that are in playoff contension most seasons such as the packers are very consistent in the way they play. the raiders have depth but they lack consistency and a cool head

@sickguitarist100 Raiders lack depth, dude. RB, it was basically bush all year before DMC & jones got hurt. DB's, No depth. New HC & GM. The raiders are going to get gutted most likely. Routt was the first. Kelly, Huff, Wimbley and maybe Mcclain could be let go. The raiders never had a convincing win all season. They beat the texans, but barley. If you look back they could have easily lost they games they won.

Routt and lito where the only healthy veterans at CB the rest where rookies or practice squad players. Huff was out the majority of the season and mitchell sucks at safety.

@RizzoTheRatt my point is the rookies are very talented. van dyke for example he can run with any reciever in the nfl with the exeption of a few. his only issue is learning how to contest the pass and the rookie taiwan jones will be a good running back after he learns how to pass protect. my point is that the raiders have a young team they can build off of and ther were a lot of games the raiders had a chance to win but came up short. the raiders only have a few missing pieces

@sickguitarist100 I think the chargers defense isnt as good as it once was but the offense is still great. I agree they lack depth on defense as far as secondary, pass rushers, etc. but the raiders lack it kind of everywhere and with this new coach its just going to make thing more difficult because now you got a whole new gameplan and playbook + he is a defensive coach so who knows.
