David had creativity and a rhythm/beat that fit KoRn's style, but Ray is a better drummer in terms of rudiments, speed, and volume. He can play really loud and really fast at the same time, a feat that most drummer cannot pull off. Look at Joey Jordinson. He plays super fast, but his drumming is nowhere near as loud as Ray's or David's when he plays that fast.
