  • Only one thing is greater than this.Conan The Barbarian and The Anvil of CROM.

  • great !! really great

  • I love that movie...submarines are best weapons of the world, but the german submarines are the greatest

  • @MrSovjetunion no, 2nd only because none of them have the power to end the world like the nuke submarines

  • 01:44 - The epicness begins

EXCELENTE

  • EXELENTE PELICULA...

  • the best movie of the world

  • and to think he turned down another jack ryan role for a streetcar named desire...

  • "Vasily, one ping only please".

  • what's the music called that starts 1:45??

  • @TSMK900 It's the same song, "Hymn of Red October" It's just another verse.

  • hunt for red october is a epic movie some poeple don't know in how dark times we had to live under rule of jaruzelski and his red bastards i n polish socialsit republic God bless president Reagan and his will to fight against red criminals from soviet union who killed a lot people more five times more than uncle adolf from third reich!

  • AKULA CLASS..THE BEST SUB

  • i love this song..as like as the movie *_*

  • why the Alfa is blwon up by the own Torpedo?

  • @MsAchmedtheterrorist

red october turned around and and drove past the alpha, so the torpedo thought the alpha was the target ...

  • marvelous work...thank you...

  • 6:02=EPIC I love that part

  • Why would you post such an Epic Movie, taking clips from it, and ......instead of perhaps actually just letting the "Dialog" happen ........( oh no. this is Youtube baby. full of morons) instead, I'll just overlay a very unnecessary, sweeping epic Soundtrack, right over the Dialog. yeah, that's what i'll do. why? cause i'm a complete idiot. and.........don't forget: This is YouTube. jeez. epic fail.

  • beautifully done

  • That movie was absolutely brilliant

  • Every note and nuance of this music is like any other actual part of history, like an artifact, only sound. Not physical. But vibration, music.

  • the music in this film is epic. it really made the film.

  • "And the sea will grant each man new hope, as sleep brings dreams of home- Christopher Columbus" "Welcome to the New World, Captain".

  • is this a real submarine ? for me, it is look way too big ...

  • @tarzan694 Yep, Typhoon class.

  • @tarzan694 LOL watch the movie makeing it talks about how they made ths and its an upside down barge this is not a real sub at least not in the movie not saying the Soviets did not build big subs but this is all hollywood set makeups

  • best fuckin movie made!!!

  • I like the designs of USA subs more than russians, but i like the names of the russian subs more, for example Red October sounds pretty intimidating, as well as akula class, hotel class, typhoon class, siera class

  • @callofdutyguy9 The Los Angeles class sub's performance came at the price of weaker construction and fewer watertight compartments. The Sovs were certainly more willing to try new designs. However, it was John Walker's treason, selling our sonar secrets to the Russians, that brought their subs in line with ours.

Long ago, Soviet nuke subs sounded like giant washing machines underwater. The Walker spy ring helped them fix the problem. Russian nuke subs are well-made and quiet now.

  • could a submarine commander be considered more elite than a regular warship commander

  • @callofdutyguy9 A Submarine captain is a step over a regular Warship commander in most countries, usually because they are in control over numerous nuclear warheads which most normal warships do not have. Tomahawk is as big as it gets there.

  • @Jesyce86 And also, submariners are required to possess some extreme personal qualities, since they are essentially always under some sort of pressure. Nuclear sub captains are arguably the strongest personalities you'll find in the armed forces of any nation, with superhuman abilities to stay calm under pressure. They are truly elite.

  • @Jesyce86 Gee, never heard that before.Of course, most countries do not have nuclear submarines and those that do have can equip them on their other ships. Like their aircraft carriers and ohhhhh tomahawk type missiles on the cruisers and nuclear tipped torpedo for anti-sub work

  • music credits movie just awesome,no matter who or where we are from we love...

  • i was sooo into the vidio...untill it ended =( need to find the full version

  • SE OS RUSSOS NÃO TIVESSEM DERROTADO OS NAZISTAS, O DESTINO DA SEGUNDA GUERRA, SERÍA TOTALMENTE DIFERENTE. A EUROPA E OS AMERICANOS , DEVERIAM SER ETERNAMENTE GRATOS AOS RUSSOS QUE SACRIFICARAM , MILHÕES DE VÍDAS, PARA DERROTAR OS NAZISTAS.

  • One of the very best movies of the 80's!

  • Basil really captures the essence of the Russian Military in this choral and Orchestral Soundtrack. Superb!

  • great!

  • tavarishch!

  • Perfect it.

  • Best movie ever with sooo many amazing lines to quote from...... never get tired of it EVER. It happened to be on the day of my wedding.... took all the jitters out of me and the guys went into the limo quoting scenes for a laugh among other things

  • I loved this movie, and still enjoy it!

  • goose bumps!!

  • Best. Movie. Ever.

    5/5

  • Sean Connery .. masterpiece!

  • Floating high-teck building, those typhoons.

  • "In Soviet Russia..."

    "...Party Crashes You."

  • *Russia not USSR

  • "Down the long lane of the history yet to be written, America knows that this world of ours, ever growing smaller, must avoid becoming a community of dreadful fear and hate, and be, instead, a proud confederation of mutual trust and respect. . . . Disarmament, with mutual honor and confidence, is a continuing imperative. Together we must learn how to compose differences, not with arms, but with intellect and decent purpose."-Dwight D.Eisenhower, 34th President Of The United States

  • USSR ?? I thought u guys broke up ?

  • Nyet! That's what we wanted you to think, hahahahaha!

  • @MAGICSINGEMITS this movie was made right before that happened(the USSR broke up in 1991

  • This awesome song is made by a Greek. Of course the Greek died and the Greeks did not ask him to remake our Greek Anthem...

A parallel life with the first governor of the new Greek republic which he was the minister of foreign affairs in Russia and he abandoned his position to serve Greece. Of course we, the Greeks , killed him. :) By the way he was so awesome that he made the constitution of Switzerland and Swiss even though there are 3 groups are still one nation, probably because of him too.

  • I'm Russian but I don't understand 30% of words in this song. Guys, is it so hard to find a few Russian immigrants there!

  • Finding Russians? No... But finding them with good singing voices.... That is the challenge.

  • Soviets...not Russians:)

  • I undestand Russian perfectly and I cannot undestand them as well! But it might very well be because of the choir technique...

  • lol

  • Communists and nazis have really bad goverments but i have to say their military is bloody awesome.

  • @Lukeclout we'll be back

  • and we don't have bad goverments

  • @Lukeclout It's a prerequisite for any evil power :)

  • @Lukeclout hell yeah

  • @Lukeclout Yeah...Trotski and Lenin warned for bad communist governements.

  • @Lukeclout unfortunatelly you´re right!

  • @Lukeclout natsies never were into miltary. it was german tradition, knowledge and fooled people, thinking they fight for the "good"side.natsies sit at home and get fat while all other die in trench....

and communists...i just say quantitiy.stalin killed almost every skilled russian officer ..i think 1937,because of his paranoia and greed of power.

  • @Lukeclout Especially as depicted in Communist-enamored Hollywood. In WWII a lot of Soviet soldiers had no weapons (had to fight with bare hands until they obtained a weapon or were simply used as cannon fodder) - and food. When they entered Poland in 1939, they would kill rats for food. An awesome military indeed.

  • @JBondski

Whatever to say Iam Polish and i konow that when they( Soviet troops) reenter Poland in 1944....It was truly diffrent and mighty ,superior over German Army force.....they not starving....rather German forces had bigger problem with supply tahn Soviet....It is also proof that 5 years could be a milege stone with army bulid up...after war was none army on thi Planet until now to army in compare might like 5 milion Soviet Forces....

  • @JBondski in WWII... in the 60s and 70s it was far different...

  • @Lukeclout does good goverment exist?

  • @Lukeclout Only crazy ass gov'ts can make awesome militaries.

  • @Lukeclout Communists? on someway they do but ideologic is perfect.

  • @Lukeclout If you're referring to the Nazi Germany government, then you're a fucking idiot. Socialism is a mighty good form of government that benefits everyone.

  • @Gracefulandings If you're referring to the Zionist US-government, then you're a fucking idiot. Socialism is a mighty good form of government that benefits everyone!!

  • @HermannWillie90 As long as you are the one in power then yes . . . socialism is good.

  • @Lukeclout i dont agree.

  • I love this Movie!! and this vid is awesome =D

  • ALUCINANTE

    "what if..."

  • Comrade? Hmm. It is not our word. Not the one we created. It is the American word and I hate when people say it as they pretend to be us. Comrade is not Russian! It is not Soviet! It is an American made up for our word "tavarishch".

  • First of all, it comes from the latin word "Comites, Comitium" and it means comrade. The RUSSIAN COUNTRY adapted to this as, we are socialist comreades and we all help eachother out for the main cuase, in this case communism. And to be just a little ETHNOCENTRIC to russians, you are still communists living in a counrty controled by the russian mob. (move to America)

  • you are definately nuts

  • The first who used a word were the german communists, and they use the word 'Genosse'. From which Tavarishch is the Translation from.

  • adsads

  • Amazing music from Greek composer Basili Poledouris.. R.I.P.

  • gänsehaut theme

  • me gusta mucho!

  • i am russian and the name red october is not real its a difrent name

    (Is that so?)

  • ..The actual name of the vessel? The Dmitriy Donskoy? The Servestal? what?

  • Yeah it bothers me too.... Like the entire Oktiabr thing... If they're going to spell "Red" correctly, why not "October"?

  • Quite understandable, but the name differs in other countries, it's always like that.

  • I agree with you so much on that I grew up hearing how awfull Russia was in the 80s as a kid and I believed it but I was allways so fascinated in Russian history and so I went there last year for 15 days starting in Vladavostok and saw three of Russia 's warships than 15 days on the Trans Siberian Railway to Moscow this year I went back to Moscow and did a trip up to St Petersberg and Murmansk seeing what looked like at least one Russian sub I spent two weeks there this time a wonderful country

  • Good words comrade! Democracy is good. But Russia must go their own way.

  • a very wise comment russia have to go their own way russia is to big go this way russia had to find a way for they own like the usa in the sates is not a100% democatie they alsow go they own way

  • yeah, why not calling putin zar again? than you'd even have a own titel for your own way!!! ;)

  • basil =greece

  • UCRANIA

  • Tim Curry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • buen video, saludos

  • RUSIA.

  • God... "RUSSIA" NOT "RUSIA"

  • Actually, Arktus94, it depends on the language. In Spanish, it's just "Rusia" - with one "r." In Russian, "Rossíiskaya," not "Russia."

You see, spelling is relative to the language being used. Not all spelling is English spelling. :)

Just thought I'd say. Especially since you start with "God..."

  • Actually, in Russian, there are two words signifying "Russian". The words being "Ruski" and "Rossiskaya". "RUSKI" signifying ETHNIC RUSSIAN whereas "ROSSISKAYA" is signifying the RUSSIAN CULTURE which encompasses all people adhering to it - including Russians themselves and Ukranians, Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Moldovians. Belarusians, Georgians, Armenians, Azeris, Jews, Kazakis, Uzbekis, Siberian tribes of Asian origin and so on.

  • lol - class.

  • Majka Pycuja

    or

    Majka Rusija

    or

    Mother Russia.

  • Its called "Matuschka Rossija".

  • Very nice piece of work, use of the music and the movie clip mashup. This is really not a forum for politics, but a place to credit or discredit the work of the poster. Thumbs up for this piece.

  • me encanto :D! buen video men, ojala subas mas del mismo genero xD

    te mereces 5 estrellas, salu2

  • yeah that is truth another is Polyushka Polye

  • The Russians were no good-but the music is cool

  • Typical music dominating totalitarian systems, pompatic, marching, aggresive, and about "our power"

  • You mean powerful and amazing?
