It's hard to pin Zero as a Maverick, considering he was infected with a virus all this time: the Zero virus, which then jumped on Sigma after their "scuffle", and eventually mutated within Sigma, to be later known as the Sigma Virus.

As for Sigma getting the virus by "punching Zero's fore-head", that's not really accurate, remember: Zero did a whole bunch of other things to Sigma in their fight.

I never knew how much damage the saber did till I tried a no armor run (cept foot of course) of X1, big mistake, he can kill you in two hits. And Zero's saber takes half a maverick's health away in X3, only reason I defeated Sigma's second form. Even then it's hard to hit him with it.
