  • The only thing it looks like they got right is that Rodya is supposed to be extremely handsome. ;:3

  • it's way better BBC's adaptation of this book

  • A great movie based on a great book. I recommend it very much!

  • This is a parody of movie trailers, right?

    Right?

  • I imagined Porfiry to look like a very hearty fat man, hairy face, but well groomed, and seem much more confusing than Ben Kingsley.

Seriously, he looks like a fucking hairdresser for cowboys in the west.

  • thats funny...but also extremely depressing...

  • "you must accept the punishment or the guilt will destroy you."

  • in my literature class now the class see tht book crime and pushiment and i want see the movie =D.

    by: Carol (Monterrey , Mexico)

    want buy tht movie Dx

  • do you have this movie?

  • ugh this trailer doesn't even resemble raskolnikov's character

you're right the trailer is kind of funny

and what's with the fake russian accents lol

  • Why may I ask do you think Raskolnikov is not well presented here.

  • ???!!! Please do not tell me that this Hollywood Barbie is Sonia!! Well, I did not see this movie, but in my opinion only Russians are able to make a movie based on a Russian novel... Sorry, I was shocked by this trailer. A really good filming was made by Dmitri Svetozarov in 2007. However, the actor in this trailer really looks like Raskolnikov should, I think.

  • I don't understand why you think a possibly great film adaptation of one of the greatest novels ever made is hilarious, unless you are mocking Russian accents or something like that,. I strongly recommend the book: It starts off about a crime, but eventually makes a huge, significant statement about the human condition. Seriously, it's an amazing novel.

  • Why do you think is hilarious ?

  • would you pls quote the original url to this vid?

  • I've seen this movie and it is quite good- not at all "hiliarious" or corny. I've read the book and this movie actually is very similiar. There is some artistic license taken but not much. I recommend it to Dostoyevsky fans.

  • of course the book will always win me over, it is the best..but yeah some of the adap. of the novel were good. This one seems promising. If u want a totally faithful adapt though look for the russian one..but this one is a bit more dramatic, more of a "hollywood" version. :P The russian one is 4 hours long hehe.

  • For long time I was hoping to watch THIS movie version, is promising.

next week I'll rent it for sure.

is one of my bedside books.

  • where can i find this movie, i search it everywhere in internet and didnt find it.

can someone help me to find it ? please

  • on video... meh... there goes my attempting to find it...

  • eerm...hey guys, stop defending the fucking book, yeah its amazing, and the movie isn´t the best performance, but, why cant you accept that the movie EXISTS, and that there is people who actualy LIKED IT, just shut up and go read your book while people get to enjoy the movie.

  • I saw this movie 3 times or so..and I really loved it...very similar to what happened in the book..really worth seeing,Patrick is a great actor

  • No the movie is not ridiculous you people are!You haven't even seen the movie and are already judging it...shame on you!I saw it !And not only once but a dozen of times! And it's fantastic!Patrick gives the best performance out of the rest! Its actually the movie that made me a fan of him and also realize that he acts so well that you can't even tell the difference between acting and himself ..or faking...And I can't even remember an actor who does that!

  • ouch. This movie looks painful... Something tells me they've turned my fav book into a parody :( and a bad one!

  • I can't understand what you guys find ridiculous about it! It's "Crime and Punishment"!!! It's the best book ever!!! And although the film isn't exactly as good as the book, it's really pretty nice...I've seen it...Patrick really tries his best...and it's worth the watch...and it's not exactly very old...it's from 1998...:)

  • iv seen the movie once(on TV) and is really nice but now im lookin to rent but i couldnt cuz nobody has it in here(montreal) so do u guys know any place on the net where i can watch the whole movie?!

  • Oh god. Patrick Dempsey as Raskolnikov in Crime and Punishment? I mean, sounds pretty cool but this trailer? Actually gives me shudders down my spine. Please tell me this is an old movie. Oh god it looks ridiculous.

  • Yes, Natasha, but vill eet reed us of moose and squirrel?
