what are the first 2 tracks this beast of a house dj played? Farley threw down, I was there and i have no idea where to find these tracks? anyone know?
@MrGeorge2508 One of them is Confusion track 1 on Armando's "Land Of Confusion". I personally own them all on vinyl. But you can try ebay or discogs to try and find copies.
I'm glad I was a part of the chicago scene back then. Nothing can ever compare to the chicago music scene in the mid to late 80s. Best music, best crowd, and best mix station, WBMX!!
pure insanity. great versions and then crowd of you aint really down joining into the rare i can't turn around unreleased version??!! this is a great video and great mix.
@mistamuthafuka Yes i have i listened to it for 2 years back in the day. It mostly sounds like Qubert video game music. But that's just my opinion if you like then enjoy I will always be a WBMX HOUSE HEAD 4 LIFE. The closest thing to techno type music to me is trance. Trance is cool but nothing can Jack the house like the hot mix 5 and Farley. Peace
everytime i watch this video i get goosebumps, especially when the crowd starts to sing, farley! farley, farley! you ain't really down! the energy is magic!
i wish i could re live this era in music OMG it bring tears to my eyes and goose bumps to my skin, come on yall HOUSE MUSIC RULES and still until today cannot be stopped. trace was ok but its missing the soul that only house can bring.
What is? The music? Crowd reaction? This was a pretty cool moment in recent time but it's just a taste of how House music events USE TO be back in the 80's/early 90's.
This is a pretty good showing but 'Hardcore' may be a bit strong. Thnx for commenting. :)
I love this stuff man. I am saved lady, but I STILL love old school Chicago House! I download it on my phone and workout to it too, lol! I wish I could have been at this party. Frankie Knuckles, the late Ron Hardy, JMK, Silk, Bad Boy Bill, and all those other guys, etc.... are legends in this genre. Thanks so much for posting! Blessings!!! :)
Too hardcore for your taste boeing what an idiotic comment . Go listen to some cheezy rock , stay out of the underground you total loser. Its suppose to be hardcore you idiot ! Go pose somewhere else, I have always hated posers that want to pretend they are cool.
The answer to your questionm was provided by Chicago Dj Jamie 3:26 (look him up):
"...It is a remake of the Ron Hardy Basement mix of It's House aka the Hiccup track. This version is done by Paul Johnson. It never came out...." ~JAMIE 3:26
Does anyone know the title to the song that goes.. "Hey hey, Be alright, ONE TIME!!" farley has played it a lot but i have no idea what it's called, can anyone help? please
Detroit I can't believe you didn't like this mix. Farley is one of the best House mixers of all time. But this is Chicago classic house. Sorry you can't relate.
You are kidding right??? What is wrong with you people??? yall is ignorant ppls!!!! DETROIT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CHICAGO HOUSE!!! THIS MIX WAS FARLEY and farley has ALWAYS been an ok dj to me..... the dj that turned me out was Ron Hardy!!!! Detroit copied Chicago! point made!!!!
whats the name of that one w/ beat from 4:50 it goes with that joint "Ow- Ow - Ow Ow - Ow Ow -Ow Ow......... "Ow- Ow - Ow Ow - Ow Ow -Ow Ow........."Ow- Ow - Ow Ow - Ow Ow -Ow Ow.........(thats what it sounded like any way) but it goes withe trac from 450, and its not You aint really down- That was mixed in.
i got a chance to be on stage with Farley at Summer Dance a few years back... man when he dropped Washing Machine and tapped that EQ... the people almost lost their minds! damn i miss the 80's! bring back WBMX!
I remember when I first heard house, it was 83/84 and I was part of a teen center in Chicago 2 keep kids of the streets, They had a old school bumping sytem and we could play what ever music we wantted on it. I used 2 play old school rap but alot of Latino's would come in and play house and I was hooked ever since then.

She had the straightest and neatest high top box cut. She dressed deep house, she always wore elephant bells and hoop earrings. She could dance her ass off. LOL
everyone knows house music was created by late great charles c. neminworth all the way back in 1993... located in bakersfield california, he dared to mix things like rare enya b-sides with bootleg ace of base remix's...what builds, what a guy
the ppl who started house was NYC@CHICAGO,back in the late 70's and early80's, the only way i now this is becuz the dude next store was from NYC and new some ppl in CHICAGO and thay come over 2 his house and would spin on the wheels of steel all nite long and i think i was about 10 years old we i heard them ,and iam 37 , and kids thats how it all got started from the ppl in CHICAGO@NYC

Hey you all on 9/2/2008 the HOUSE came alive with all of the HOTMIX 5 and CeCe peniston!, White Knight!! it was the SHIT like something surreal "Farley said" I WILL HURT YOU" and house music all night long was an honor and Privilege to live such an event felt like the Rave scene out of the blade movie!!!!! "Anit nobody better!"
My sisters were there and they raved all weekend how amazing it was! I missed it because my son was standing up in a cotillion that night. I'll make it next year for sure!
I missed this party because I live in Houston now, but the next one I will be on the plane. These are my memories. I first heard Farley at the Playground. I think it was 81. Make them move!
This is by far the best mix vid I've seen in my entire life!!! So that is where bang bang bang skeet skeet stole that from. I knew it!! I knew it!! That beat was tight. What is the name of that song?
i wouldn't say that the djs in the chi took their house just from white european disco. it also came out of american disco and the acid-techno music in the u.s. black d.j.'s in chicago started having parties at homes in the late 70's and early 80's. way before 86-88. thats when everybody else got hooked on it, in 86-88.
I know my house history. "Black" chicago house took influence from white european electro/italo disco and Hi-NRG dance music. Just listen to WBMX 80s broadcasts. Chicago house was definately a new genre created by black Djs 85 - 88 period. DJs in the UK (white & black) took it to a global level; where is is today but if I had to choose I would without question stick to 80s House. J-J-J-J Jack me 'til I scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah id hate to be the bearer of bad news but italo disco jacked from freestyle....if anyone wants ot get technical in 1979 frankie knuckles the godfather of house created the first house track from a a disco sample and some kick drum machine
and the acid movement is a subgenre of hiphouse, which was also started in chicago
haha i do....i was born in 81...grew up in forest park and chicago, right in the mid of the house movement, hell its why i produce and remix to this day....early influences
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ain't no one in this world know what this was about! FUCK NY, LA, and any one else who think they about bout it! CHI-TOWN HOUSE FO LIFE BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!! WUT!!!!!!!!!!
it bugs me though if chicago is the best why dont they prove it by having off the hook parties like this every weekend instead of once or twice a year.I say this cause i really miss going to parties like these every weekend(damn shame)
I don't know about Chicago being the best...just being realistic. It is where House music got it's humble beginnings but anyway....to get back to your comment: There are plenty of events every month that feature Old School House, Disco, WBMX style music...you just gotta keep your eyes open and the tricky part is knowing which djs actually have that old school talent. There is an event coming up in Chicago on Saturday 2/16/2008...(to be continued)
hey please let me know ahead of time about that event coming up. I went to the one 09/29/2007 and it was off the chain. I am an old school househead and love the feeling it gives to all.
It's called "It's house" by Chip E. The original doesn't sound exactly like that, the dj is mixing it and slowed the beat a little, but the drum beat is the same.
Just to expand a little more on MikeDiddy1's answer and in response to BEEOWSLERNK original inquiry, a more accurate answer was provided by Chicago Dj Jamie 3:26:
It is a remake of the Ron Hardy Basement mix of It's House aka the Hiccup track..
not true after speaking to some reliable sources, it will come out spring of 09, but its true that it was never released to the public but people are asking for it so its coming!!!!

Cause black people created the house movement!!! Know your house history!!!
dwooddaman 3 years ago

SeventhSinTheGreat 3 years ago
It's funny because in the UK it's mostly white people; I would say 90% whites listen to this type of music. Blacks in the UK don't.
sansomdela 3 years ago
Why is everybody black? Do white people in America not listen to this amazing early house music????
sansomdela 3 years ago
Latinos papi! we also listened to this music as well!

it bugs me though if chicago is the best why dont they prove it by having off the hook parties like this every weekend instead of once or twice a year.I say this cause i really miss going to parties like these every weekend(damn shame)

There is an event coming up in Chicago on Saturday 2/16/2008...(to be continued)
cratebug 4 years ago
hey please let me know ahead of time about that event coming up. I went to the one 09/29/2007 and it was off the chain. I am an old school househead and love the feeling it gives to all.

what track is at the 5 minute mark? Shit is knockin! Simple drum track, but bangin!
BEEOWSLERNK 4 years ago
It's called "It's house" by Chip E. The original doesn't sound exactly like that, the dj is mixing it and slowed the beat a little, but the drum beat is the same.
mikediddy1 4 years ago
Just to expand a little more on MikeDiddy1's answer and in response to BEEOWSLERNK original inquiry, a more accurate answer was provided by Chicago Dj Jamie 3:26:
It is a remake of the Ron Hardy Basement mix of It's House aka the Hiccup track..
This version is done by Paul Johnson.
It never came out.
cratebug 4 years ago
Damn, school is in session. Thank you.
BEEOWSLERNK 4 years ago
damn,so no one will ever have it but him,damn........shame but awesome though, gives it a sense of how rare it is
SeventhSinTheGreat 3 years ago
