times do change, but great art sticks around for centuries, Beethoven is still talked about because he was very talented and the music had great composition. Luke Chueh is just some fad artist who won't be remembered 20 years from now.
@nothingoesright the fact is most art can be roproduced my many people look at picasso's impressionism period whcih can easily be reproduced, this is just an example but fact is most art is simple its the impact on whioch it makes and the people it touches that matters. Not the fact that anybody could produce this if they really tried its the fact that the artisit did produce this and not somebaody else.
I been watching viddee-O's.. just not been logged in for some time. I still think he's a poorly talented, sell out "artist" if you even wanna give him that honor. Surely he doesn't deserve it. Anyone can draw those stupid bears and paint them. Except he sells them for $5,000, clever marketing scheme.
I'm not denying that anyone can paint those bears. Personally I don't think paintings need to be held to such a high standard for someone to be called a good artist. If people like the person's work than so be it, it's all opinion. I think most of it is the humor and sometimes the message (like in "Adding Fuel to the Fire" ) that makes his work popular rather than the look. But hey, I can't say you're opinions wrong, just different.
Do you know what he tool he was using when he started to ink the sketch? It looked to me like it was a piece of sharpened wood, but I'm not entirely sure.
its about the content or message behind his paintings and not necessarily the complexity of them.
