Sigh...MTV... Too bad there are not anymore good music channels available. I realize that the internet is here, of course, but it just doesn't replace waiting for late Sunday nights and taping 120 Minutes to VHS. Oh well.
I once saw the members of Front 242 in the streets of Mexico taking a picture. I was doing my thesis and was so tired I did not stop to say hello. they were my favorite band at the end of the eighties.
I think the 80's were better. 120 minutes died with Kevin Seal and then after that english guy quite too (Dave?). Actually I thought 120 minutes stopped in early 90's but I guess i am wrong! take care!
Let me tell you there never was a Chales in 242! I don't know frm where you get that info. There was Dirk Bergen in the very early days, but that's it, sorry.
I will say F242 isn't my favorite band, but their influence is not lost on me. Arguably the fathers of EBM with "Geography" in 1985 I think. Also that same year Skinny Puppy released "Bites" which is considered the start of Industrial. Not to mention Depeche Mode & Joy Division. Really interesting how this all came about 20 years ago. Compare that to other genres, and electronic/IDM/EBM/Industrial is very young.
Nice to see once upon a time MTV interviewed quality musicians.
You're right!!! These guys are one of the most influential bands in history...in my opinion...I've made this comment before on some other video, but f242 is one of those rare bands that feeds all your senses when you see them live...they are a visual, auditory, and kinesthetic when they perform...very few bands can do that to you when you see them live...
This was blocked in my playlist WTF!? BY SME, this was FUKN GAY!

So awesome.I can't believe good music used to be on TV! The 80s and early 90s = the best.

I'd love to be able to watch something like 120 minutes from the 80s online. Is anyone broadcasting anything like that online?
