Night Shyamalan's movies, along with his other fans. I do feel that The Happening wasn't a great movie, even though my friend loves it. Therefore, it seems obvious to me that whether a movie is good or bad really is dependent on the viewer's own opinion.
Movies are made for people to watch. Either you like the movie or you don't. I don't believe in following a movie critics ideology in my decision to watch a movie or not. Movie critics use a rating system looking for specific details and overall performances. This should not be the guide if ones choice to see or not see a movie. Really don't know why people expected twisted-ending movie too much from M.Night and keep disappointed. This film was, in fact, really good if people don't mind about the non twisted ending.

I think the scene when the main hero enters the blue world is amazing, you can see all the details in the underwater house like jewelry and furniture.
Another scene I like is the revelation of who the guardian is. Even though everybody thought that what the guardian guy did every day was crazy (building muscles on just one arm) it actually gave him a very strong one arm with which he would be able to hurt the beast. That is why the beast feared him, it's because he was capable of hurting it.
I thought Unbreakable, signs, lady in the water, the sixth sense and even DEVIL were all really great movies. M Night Shyamalan is a very creative guy. Just because he had a few "let downs" in people oopinion doesnt make him horrible. I don't watch the series of the last air bender, but I thought that one wasn't bad...
Just because the Last Airbender was a let down doesn't mean M. Night is a terrible writer/directer. I think Signs, The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and even this movie were all really good. He's imaginative, unlike most people in the movie business who only know how to do remakes or base movies off books. Pft.

i agree that the trailer 4 this movie is good, but once i saw the movie, it was horrible. was not scary, events were completely random, the storyline didnt even make any sense, and the lady from the water just whispered the entire time so no one could understand what she was saying...

Actually, according to imdb, M Night Shlamilamanma is the sole writer of the screenplay. The creators had nothing to do with the movie-making and shit Slamalanama barfed onto the film. I just hope that Shammealama loses work over this debacle. Calling him a director is an insult.
Okay, I've watched the link and no, at no point is there any indication that the creators passed on the script in its final form. They did see the outline but the biggest flaw with the movie was the directing.
I have no clue why this movie did so poorly in reviews. I consider myself a very harsh movie critic, and I absolutely loved it. With this director, it's a HUGE hit or miss. I consider Lady in the Water, Unbreakable, and The Sixth Sense his three best by far. Village was okay, and everything else was a flop. But Lady in the Water was incredible.

Actually went to the cinemas to see this. I tried sooo hard, but I fell asleep. It bored me to tears. There was nothing remotely challenging about this poor excuse of a movie.
I absolutely LOVE this movie... I can't believe that it got so less attention and that it's called a failure... it's so awesome and beautiful :3 and the Soundtrack OMG! ^-^

Because while some part of the audience might enjoy moving pictures for the sake of moving pictures the experts are actually educated and know what they're talking about. People love The Room, I love The Room, The Room is also known as one of the worst movies ever made. All the fans of the movie are aware of that. What amazes me with Shyamalan is that both he, and his fans, refuse to admit that he has ever made a mediocre movie.

i agree that the trailer 4 this movie is good, but once i saw the movie, it was horrible. was not scary, events were completely random, the storyline didnt even make any sense, and the lady from the water just whispered the entire time so no one could understand what she was saying...

Actually, according to imdb, M Night Shlamilamanma is the sole writer of the screenplay. The creators had nothing to do with the movie-making and shit Slamalanama barfed onto the film. I just hope that Shammealama loses work over this debacle. Calling him a director is an insult.

Okay, I've watched the link and no, at no point is there any indication that the creators passed on the script in its final form. They did see the outline but the biggest flaw with the movie was the directing.

I have no clue why this movie did so poorly in reviews. I consider myself a very harsh movie critic, and I absolutely loved it. With this director, it's a HUGE hit or miss. I consider Lady in the Water, Unbreakable, and The Sixth Sense his three best by far. Village was okay, and everything else was a flop. But Lady in the Water was incredible.

i suppose if you never watched the seris of avatar the last airbender you would say that.
but the movie sucked balls for real fans. he got the names wrong, the casting sucked, the actuall 'bending' was all wrong, the 3D was crappy, the acting was middle school'ish, he left out very important parts, and overall it was a massacre of the plot and overall show its self.
