Everything about this episode was irritating! 1) the fake, seizure inducing lightning. 2) the sheriffs idiocy and the way he was walking around like he just got fucked up the ass. 3) everyone was driven mad because of an....oil monster? Absolute fuckery!
That's Texas: kill everybody and everything, until there's nothing left, then Jesus will return and set things right. I say let's hurry up and get this thing DONE. ;])
It ranges from something simple like hitting yourself on the head on the cupboard and punching the cupboard for payback even though you know it's going to damage your hand and the cupboard isn't actually sentient
to the much crazier feeling of being angry at the pain itself and hitting yourself where it hurts to get payback against the pain (pretending the new feeling of pain is being inflicted on the previous sensation of pain), which leads to a vicious cycle.
This is like the Happening meets The Crazies. But no plot behind the reasons why everyone was killing each other and themselves or the monster killing ppl. Its a good but u need a plot to have a great movie.
I did not like this one, it did not make sense. Well it did not say what the orgins of this monsters were or how it all started. All it talks about is what it did and not what made it start or why. The idea of an oil monster is lame. I was very disappointed this time and most of the time Masters of Horror puts out great stuff. This was just bad, bad, bad. It was not even really scary. I did watch the whole hour also.
@EmmaYaBasta There is hidden meaning in this movie. The monster is the obama Administration killing more Americans than Osama ever will. The SUV running out of gas is the price being shoved so high by obama no one can afford it. The Sheriff getting killed is obama's opponents being murdered. No, I'm not politicizing this comment. It's just your imagination.
How do you watch horror movies on mobile with that tiny screen?? I mean, how can you be scared of tiny monsters, vampires, ghosts, evil spirits...??? It's pathetic!
@liketheuniverse11 Well, if it's on your comp and you put it at full screen and turn off the mouse and the lights in the house at midnight then it gets creepy as all shit.
@AnarcticPanda I know! I said that just because I thought it would be more like weird and funny to be watching horror scenes on a tiny screen, I mean you can't be "properly" scared by that! :D Lol!
@AnarcticPanda How can we be sure, anyway??? :O I think the only way to find out how it truly feels is to try and do it! We should watch the most terrifying horror movie in the tiniest screen we can get, just to be sure! LOL! Now, which movie would do it???Lol?? Maybe "The exorcist 2" :O I still think that it will make me laugh instead!! :D
@OhMyGodNoFreakingWay Hi. I know. I keep seeing people refer to them as movies, but it's really a series. I think it use to air on Showtime - not sure; but now, Chiller shows the series on Sundays. It's really another anthology series like The Twilight Zone and etc. I don't understand why they're referred to as movies.
@MANICISBACK Hi; and Happy New Year! Thank you. It's just funny to have them called movies when you have tv shows that are an hour long, too. Nevertheless, I've enjoyed watching them. I discovered them through Chiller.
You can compare this to the short story that was it's inspiration for free as it is in the public domain and on project Gutenberg.
(It won't post my message unless I write the link like that, stupid spammers)
MILD SPOILERS MAY FOLLOW
An alright little film. Though the "point" of the original short story (which only resembles this in very basic premise) is subverted for a more topical message about ecology with a Frankenstein motif.
@RattyRandnums Correction- wasn't able to give the link to the short story at all thanks to youtube's anit-spam measures ramping up. But a quick googling of "The Damned Thing Gutenburg" is really all you need to find it.
It's an exceedingly short story but should prove interesting to horror enthusiasts for being Lovecraftian before Lovecraft.
I tried to see it as less ecgological BS and more 'don't fuck around with stuff you don't know; and when you know there's shadows and monsters lurking in your home town, DON'T GO BACK'.
Seriously if haunted monster oil was chasing me, I'd go to where oil can not get to.
@YamsRyu Yeah that's where the Frankenstein motif I mentioned comes in. "Meddling in things that ought not to be meddled with" etc. etc. but yeah if I was trying to escape an overwhelming evil force monster and hide so it couldn't find me. I think I'd move further than just ONE TOWN OVER Lol!
HALLOWEEN is my favorite holiday ever since i was born partly because my birthday is 8 days before Halloween. also i like the eeriness and dark tones of Halloween. and it's the season for horror movies being released into theaters.
Most of these "Masters Of Horror" episodes are so poorly written and very sexist and just plain GARBAGE! One of the very few episodes that was actually quite good was "The Fair-Haired Child" which I highly recommend.
@Babyhowdy233 Some, but some I thought most were pretty great. I agree with "The Fair-Hared Child" but I also think that "The Screw Fly Solution" was good too. Low budget which you can tell but man, did it resonate. I thought that was one of the scariest. I also liked "The Washingtonians" it was just hilarious horrific fun.
"that's funny. poor writing and sexism are staples of horror movies."
Absolutely,I agree, very sexist toward men. 90% of the people eviscerated in horror movies are male. And last time I checked, sugartits, there hasn't been any good horror movies since about 1986. Why are you whining about it like a child?
It's really a shame. Even on the internet, commercials conquer everything. The reason why I like the internet is because I don't have to worry about commercials interrupting, but now, that appears to no longer be the case. It truly saddens me. Especially since I avoid buying things advertised like that.
@Silvia1826 That awkward moment when people don't realize that bandwidth and providing free online streaming of a movie that you would otherwise have to pay $15 for is not actually free for the providers.
ya, this movie was really dumb. it had no storyline at all. honestly, it was just an excuse to show a bunch of people receiving gory deaths. not only that, it was just too boring. - thumbs down all the way -
Random deafness much? The sheriff can hear the doctor basically whispering but for some reason he can't comprehend normal volume? And why does he not show any emotion at all?
the ending was a complete piece of shit....its like the writters of the script just gave up in the end and said fuck it lets just make it so that they all die........complete waste of time and then to find out the killer monster is some big mess of what looks like oil wtf type of spiderman bullshit is that mite aswell made the monster sandman
