There is a clip of Ulf Samuelson (Whalers) trying to track down Michel Goulet (Nordiques) as he whips in on a breakaway on an empty net. Samuelson throws both his gloves, his helmet and then his stick knowing full well that he couldn't stop him. I think it's the same game that he attacked the grill on a zamboni with a squeegee. I guess he didn't really "lose" his equipment so much as his mind.
