I would like to know if you can actually get a buzz from the glaze. I was thinking about making a rum cake for my daughter's 30th birthday, and I don't drink, please let me know. (=
LOL ... that was funny. Today is my birthday. I never have sugar, bleached enriched flower, cake mix, etc in my home, but I just really wanted a rum cake today and yours is the first recipe I clicked on the subject.
how do you make this in a 8-9 inch round pan?

@pheonixx777 You can't. This would be too much batter for that small of a pan. You might be able to split the batter in 2 9-inch pans and stack them.

as me being 19, can i still eat the cake with out the glaze?

@Cakez559 Supposedly the alcohol bakes out, but that is not for me to decide.

@Cakez559 Of course you can! In Miami, where rum cake is THE cake, even babies will have a bite of this stuff. Don't deny yourself!

@The101177 If you don't drink, then probably. If you are used to rum, probably not.

@OneMessyChef Well, I must say, it took you long enough to get back to me! Haha!
