thanks for this upload im useing some of this info for a collage projec t on blues as im training as a music producer, some of the comments below sicken me, so much hate in the world and so unnessery, most genre's of music had some kind of influence of some kind, even blues, but lets not forget blues had been one of the worlds greatest gifts because it had been the seed for so much of todays music and had borght untold happyness to millions, in todays world we are all slaves to greed and money!

@jchinaski i hate everyone who is happy, and the reason being is because i'm not, i struggle with day to day life, the future depresses me, most people get cancer , is that something good to look forward to, working hard but still never having much money, thats why i say horrible things to people, hoping they might get to feel like shit which is how i feel all the time. deep down i dont mean anything i say. its strange, the older i get the harder i find it to deal with things.

its always hard for people to think others influenced their pride and joy. From what I have studied Robert Johnson traveled as far north as Canada, he played lots of different kinds of music, he played polkas for god's sake. We can only guess how they were really influenced or by who, the rest is speculation. That's my two-cents.

No,the Scottish and Irish emigrated to the American south,and brought their accent and music with them. The accent evolved into what we refer to as "redneck". Their music(Celtic) evolved into country. The Scottish form of spiritual influenced blacks,and "in-line" was born.

Country, in addition to being derived from celtic music, is also heavily derived from blues.

No one's claiming that african music is the ONLY ancestor to american music. But it is a huge influence in pretty much any style you care to name. It is fair to say that no modern american style would exist as it does today without the african styles brought over by slaves.

Only later on did modern blues start incorporating ideas from country and celtic folk. But it started out as its own thing, pretty purely of african descent.
