It is clear that this is just an animation, but I consider it a low quality animation because it doesn´t contain a verosimilitude plot or descrition of a fight. Besides it doesn´t respect the canonity of the game. If fei long is based on Bruce lee, then the character would have been prepared against grapling techniques, because Bruce dedicated a lot of time to this area during his intense trainings. Maybe this fight was motivated by a japanese grudge against bruce lee.

Both Ryu and Ken do a nameless Martial Art based on Karate, Judo and Taekwondo, and yes it's nameless. That's what my source tells me. They were taught by Gouken who was taught by Goutetsu. Also, Akuma uses the same style.

So it's not Karate only, though in Americanized versions say it's Shotokan, but in the original it is not. And I think that original is what it counts.

There's no way that Ryu and Ken actually say "Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku" in any Street Fighter game. Just listen to the voice actor here say the exact words in eight syllables. In the games, you only hear five syllables spoken by anybody performing the Hurricane Kick, except Akuma. It sounds like they're saying "a prostitutem", lol!

Umm...why does Ryu have his gloves on at the start of the fight, but then when he gets Shien Kyaku-ed, and when he does the Hurricane Kick he mysteriously doesn't have them anymore?
