  • WOW! This is majestic! Appreash!

  • That was dope!

  • The last time I heard a remix this nice was Rakims "It's been a long time" over a Tribe Called Quests "Scenerio" beat. It was from DJ Ray & Geebo the Pro mixed tape in NY. Haven't heard it since. See if you can make it happen and post, It's a wicked combination.

  • I looked all over for that track and couldn't find it. If you can give me the details of the mixtape I'll find it and post.

  • It was DJ Ray RR & Geebo the Pro. It was released between 90 & 92 in NYC. If you have 2 turntables just let the music from Scenerio play behind Rakims lyrics from "It's Been a Long Time". It's a really good combination. Let me know if you can post it or if you find it.

  • Good hip hop blends can be so awesome. I wish I could hear that.

  • the get a ghetto pass ! harlem world !!!

  • This remix is wicked. Like the video but is there anyehere to get a higher quality version of the mp3? Else I am gonna remix this myself cos I got the elements but seems a waste of time when it's already been done so well! :)

  • thanks!! stand by... I'll send you a better copy in a few!

  • dude, i want one too

  • mp3?

  • This is actually very good! But I think there might've been some better BB track to use here, Check It Out hasn't been my favs ever... But this shit is good!

  • When videos/songs get mixed one takes over the other - this one is rated "S" for smooth. Added to Favs.

  • artist are not to be taken into account when deciding what sounds sound good in music. imo. this sounded good i liked it, good job.

  • One of the few Mash-Ups out there that really works, can you hook us up with a download link for this, I really like it

  • thanks for the compliments!

there is a site called mediaconverter to convert links...

I use it all the time, works great!

  • Very nice work, you dont see work like this very often on youtube

  • hey thanks, man!!

  • One of the few Mash-Ups out there that really works

  • this mix is dope.

  • thanks!

  • this entire concept is offensive. rakim is awesome. beastie boys awesome. but in no conceivable way to beastie boys even come close to rakim you gotta be joking mate. by themselves i love both artists. its just that rakim takes a big steaming shit on most rappers lyrically. peace n carrots.

  • eh, their styles are different dude, they aren't competing, they are different styles of hiphop, beastie boys bring something else to hip hop than rakim does. also, i don't see how this is so offensive, rakim can sample anyone but people can't sample rakim? i love rakim man, but i think he'd disagree with you too.

  • aye man beastie boys have got some fucking awesome songs. infact i like most of their shit. it just it doesent seem right listening to this rakim just fits better with this beat. id just prefer to listen to the original bro. peace n carrots.

  • I am truly sorry! I have to say, if someone told me that this video would one day offend somebody, I wouldn't have believed them! And yet, here we are...

  • technically it is pretty good. and i like both songs. just something about it doesent sound right not sure what peace.

  • 100% AGREE ALEX!!!!

God himself would shudder upon touching the flesh of rakim. when his last record dropped, the suicide rate of wanna be rappers skyrocketed. no offense at all to the neasties, but noone can touch rakim, it just aint happenin

  • i think it's better when Rakim spits it alone over the beat

the beat fits more with Ra's style

  • phenomenal video 5*

  • this is sick. u gotta kno how to deejay and direct. tight

  • thanks!! actually, I am a dj and have directed tv spots!

  • thanks, homey!

  • that's seriously dope

    Great work man.

  • hey thanks a lot!!!

I love the Rakim live band video you have! He's like one of the best MC of all time!

  • yeah, seriously, your favorite rapper's favorite rapper :P

Beastie boys, much like Rakim, are also Hip Hop legends.

What's awesome about both is, I've seen both of them in recent performances, and eventhough they've been around for 20+ years, they still stand tall with the best of what today's artists have to offer which is a feat by itself

  • nice! I have never seen Rakim live but I know I will one day! I still listen to Paid In Full. I've seen the Beasties like 6 times - last year 2 nights in a row!

  • Wow SICK!!!

  • thanks!!!

  • Word!

  • thanks!!!

  • great mix man...5 starz

  • thanks!!

  • damn thats a good mix.... how did u do that

  • thanks!! I used Pro Tools and Final Cut Pro

  • how u make dis??

  • the audio was cut on an old version of Pro Tools and the video on Final Cut Pro

  • o oK....KEW!!

  • hahah really good

  • awesome!
