  • hoyts mostly distributes movies from cannon films in australia.

  • @cameron20101000 Correction - they did. Hoyts today wasn't as big as they were back in the 80s. Hoyts still has their own distribution arm, but that's at a smaller scale, compared to the Australian arms of the Hollywood studios or Roadshow, the major local distributor.

  • @bigdanisstillalive Right, in Australian version of New Line Cinema, Miramax, Dimension movies uses the Village Roadshow instead.

  • @cameron20101000 Well......you're half-right. Until recently, New Line was distributed by Village Roadshow, until Warner Bros took full control, and now their films are released/distributed by Warners down there. Some Miramax and Dimension titles were released by Roadshow back in the early days, but were largely handled by Buena Vista. I know Dimension tiles now are handled by Roadshow, not so sure about the new Miramax.

  • @bigdanisstillalive Dimension is owned by The Weinstein Company now

I don't about Miramax, maybe the same thing or may still be owned by Buena Vista.

I don't know, wikipedia can tell me.

  • @bigdanisstillalive I know now, Miramax is owned by Filmyard Holdings now, go to wikipedia to look up.

  • I guess Hoyts distributes some films in Australia (those who belong to unknown companies, anyway!)

  • @JesseLee85719 Yes they do...but read above.

  • Sweet!
