  • IMO a better version than the one on the new live dvd

  • I remember a dutch friend in Edmonton showing of the quality of his $1000 Sears stereo system with the start of Moving Pictures' Camera Eye. He wasn't a Rush fan at all, but he loved the way it started with the stereo separation of notes and the build up.

  • I love Rush so much. WTF is wrong with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame???? Hands down the most uniquely talented band ever.

  • @TheNewyorkdragon Thats really "Prety well said" my friend. I rememeber the Moving pictures tour. Man those were good times! Yeah..Rush is something very special. Nothing is more powerful than the truth.

  • I saw them live and this is definetely the best video out there. And let me tell you if you are a rocker and and have not seen Rush play this song live you haven't live!

  • I'm torn watching this. You made a great video but I went to see them in Greenville, SC and the people with video camera and phones ruined the show. I would try to get into the show and then some bright light screen monitor would pop up in front and distract. Its a big problem at concerts these days.

  • perfect one of my favs, i still want to hear losing it :( live, nice camera

  • No doubt the highlight of the TMT -- and sadly, TCE is still Rush's latest long-form track to date. At least they were nice enough to pull this one out for us!

  • everyone in Rush has had only 4 letter in their name:

JEFF Jones: no longer a Rusher

JOHN Rutsey: RIP, no longer a Rusher

    ALEX Lifeson: worlds greatest guitarist!

GARY Lee: his actual name is gary, worlds greatest bassist, singer, and keyboardist!

NEIL Peart: worlds greatest drummer and lyricist!

    RUSH: also has 4 letters

    funny.

  • The 2nd time (Alb being the first) that The Camera eye had been played live since 1983. I felt honored to be there

  • This is one of those songs that you can tell they are in the zone considering Geddy and Alex barey move the lol

  • I don't know how Rush seems to get better the older they get, but I'm glad they do. What fucking legends.

  • Saw them in June in Greenville, S.C.. "The Camera Eye" blew me away.

  • @libertatus

So did I. they were outstanding! Msically, they have no equal as a live band.

  • can't wait to see their 2011 vancouver show this thursday!

  • cool video. i'm going to see them tomorrow night in concord, ca for the first time ever. always loved moving pic's. came out freshman year of highschool! oh, the nostaglia:)

  • @ninthave Have a great time, I know I did!

  • @wickedcurve tonight in vancouver!!!! damn, geddy sounds good!!!

  • @sparkles67 You'll have a great time!

  • @ninthave how'd you like that show? :) ...I personally thought it was amazing, which could also be due to the fact that it was on my birthday! hell of a gift, eh? haha

  • Comment removed

  • @ninthave Moving Pictures came out around my Sophmore year in Highschool. I came from Moraga, Ca.

  • You did a phenominal job on this video man. Good sound, steady cam. Mine came out with decent sound from MSG but bad vid as cam kept focusing on ppl's heads.

  • @deepinthepocket thank you for your compliment! I just wish it had been a lot better in certain lighting instead of having a cartoonish look...

  • @wickedcurve I think it looks great. Not much you can do once the smoke starts playing with the lighting. I have good sound on my videos but they get blurry at times because of smoke or when someone in front of me moves and the camera chooses to focus on their hair or something...

  • the worst rush show is still better than the best led zepplin show.

  • Awesome show. Thanks for bootlegging it. Starlight is the best venue to see Rush.

  • @nebfandan I agree wholeheartedly! A nice intimate venue, not too big...just right!

  • Great, the BEST!!!! My Hero's!!

  • I'm still reeling after the show 6/8/11 in Greenville, S.C.. First Rush show there since 'Exit Stage Left' and they played 'The Camera Eye' then, too!

  • I hope his voice lasts. His voice has mellowed and he can't sing like he did 30 years ago, but it's still quite good.

  • Combined annual income of all the basement dwellers at this shit show was $3,342.

  • @MyAccount4TrollingU -What is the annual income of a troll? This, I'm sure, is a statistic you are much more familiar with.

  • @libertatus I eat my boogers.

  • @MyAccount4TrollingU Actually dickless, I make $54,000 a year. What do you like Lady Gaga?

  • Thanks for posting! i seen Rush 3 times in the 80's Had to drive to Baltimore to see Rush from the Phila area. Every time Rush was playing in Phila last few years it was allways in the Ampitheather setting which i don't really like. Show was great

  • wow geddy's voice is kinda bad on this track. .... lol big surprise

  • The intro to this song is one of the best in Music History, along with Xanadu and Baba O'Riley...

  • thanks! great material... Rush sounds as an "easy to play songs" but it does not..!! Great band and I loved Rush concert here in Chile 2010. The music and good vibrations has no frontiers or flags..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The focus is sharp in the city !! I was at the chicago concert, Awesome vid, thank you !

  • Yikes. I heard like 3-4 mistakes at the beginning. Peart came in late, Lifeson hit a blue note, it wasn't good. For them, I mean.

  • Saw the tour in Sept 18th in VA Great show have seen the boys 30+ times but Moving Pics in it's entirety rocked........nuff said!!

  • SIMPLY THE BEST .

  • Awesome...........................

  • I need a time machine to go back to when I was at the concert!

  • I saw them at Madison Square Garden last week and the played this and the crowd and i went nuts, one of my favorite Rush tunes. AWESOME, AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMFG now i'm so glad for have whached this tour

i'll remeber that for my whole life rush rules!!!!

  • Yeah Baby!!!!...

  • saw the tour at alpine valley in 81

i can barely watch this without falling apart,i don't know how they can perform it

    fucking bravo!

  • Best performance of Camera Eye I've seen online for this tour. The boys were ON that night! Their KC shows always seem to be a cut above for some reason... R30 in KC was another topper. Fantastic filming - Thx much! Garypp1 Toronto

  • The vocals on this one are good, the other vids seem kind of dodgy but this one is great, thanks for the upload bravo!

  • Wow great job.Hope u got to enjoy the show, while giving us such GREAT video.RUSH might want to think of paying you...LOL

  • This brings me back to that concert last year... Something I'll never forget, the show was amazing and so were those three guys that play their instruments like no one else does!

  • Thanks for posting this one man. I so hope I can get to see them live again this year in the UK. It would be awesome to see this track live.

  • I was probably thirty feet to the right of who ever filmed this show. This was an incredible concert. The stage at Starlight is a large castle with turrets and a line of trees surround the audience . The sun sets stage left. Very dramatic.

  • This is the perfect Rush fan video. Seats are dead center, nobody puts their head in the way, and the sound is pretty darned good. Wish mine were that tight. Oh well, my pal couldn't stop drumming on my shoulder & messing up my own video. Then I thought, screw taking video, I'm gonna enjoy this!

  • 00:30 left side of the screen - the LEG LAMP from A Christmas Story!

  • I'm sure I've said it before concerning this particular video, but thanks for a job well done!

It was a pleasure watching this again because of the anticipation of getting to see this amazing band perform again this coming April. Last year was great, 2011 will be even better, AND with a new album due!

Thanks, man, thumbs up to you.

  • Pure Joy! I hereby award Wickedcurve the Order of the Golden Shreve, First Class, for services to Rush fans everywhere.

  • Is it just me or is Geddy's voice starting to go?

  • It looks like Neil got caught in a pickle around 2:20 when he came in a little late with his drum fill - Geddy looked over. LOL Then he was stuck a a beat or two behind and came in late again around 2:31. Maybe he couldn't hear the keyboard change at 2:15 well enough that begins the musical passage.

Sorry, don't mean to be mean and I love the performance, but it's comforting to see that Neil Peart is actually HUMAN! He doesn't make many mistakes.

  • @tonusaitis You're right, it wasn't much but it was definitely an imperfection. Neil probably beat himself over the head with a knobbly club after the show.

  • @tonusaitis The sad part is that it's not too horribly apparent either. If you know how the drum part fits in there you notice, but otherwise they managed to sync up so easily you wouldn't even have known they messed up if you had never heard the song.

  • @tonusaitis well, as along as we're being picky... did you hear the totally wrong note Alex plays at 4:29? he just missed it by a half step down... oops! ha, it makes me like them even more... I love this band, and having played about 7 million CORRECT notes, I'm thinking if they play one or two bad ones, they're still way ahead... GO RUSH !!!

  • This is the track Rush fans have been waiting 30 years to see and hear live and they do it even better NOW than they did on the Moving Pictures tour (saw them twice in '81!) Wickedcurve nailed this video giving a full stage view with all of the spectacular visuals displayed. Nice job and excellent quality! Enjoyed it full screen at 720p!

  • @photostation69 Thank you so much for your great compliment! I tried my best...

  • It's so damn good... it's ridiculous !!

cant wait for the European tour in a few months...

  • It HAD to be about 120 degrees on stage that night!

  • roll on 22/05/11 birmingham uk , wild horses ,wont keep me away .........

  • Jesus this is awesome

  • WAHOO! Seein' the boys again in May at the M.E.N. Let the good times roll!

  • Thanks bro for uploading...missed the 2010 concert tour this year.

  • Piss on obama. Geddy for president in 2012! Or 2112! (he'll still be here)

  • The lights from above remind me of that record that was floating around back in the late 70s that was called, "RUSH THROUGH TIME".It showed them onstage from the "A Farewell To Kings Tour" on the front cover, and it featured songs from "Fly By Night" through to "A Farewell To Kings".

  • @ChevKen Ha! I still have that vinyl!

  • I'm so bummed that I missed getting tickets when they came to washington. They're one of the few bands thats flawless live. Although.. Geddy's voice has changed. :P and I realize its difficult to sing properly when you have a million things to do at once

  • Two words: THANK YOU

  • Got my 4 main floor tickets. About half way back though. Must be selling fast. Oh well, still good seats. Cant wait. First time back INDOORS at the Palace since TforE tour 1996. Amazing arena and sound quality. Has won lots of national awards for best venue.

  • Got tickets for the Rotterdam show 27th of May, you'll understand i'm a happy chappy

    cheers to you all

  • Great vid and sound of my favourite rush-song! Thanks....

  • i love this band

  • What a great band. Best in the business. I never miss their tours.

Thanks so much for the great video.

  • @SqueezeThis, thank you for the compliment and you're welcome!

  • I want a "RASH" shirt, too!

  • God damnitts; can I just reiterate, wickedcurve is THE f-ing MAN! Christ, you got 'em all. Camera Eye - Witch Hunt - Barchetta. All of 'em, man. Great job. The boys BETTER get to Detroit this winter. That's all I got to say. They didn't schedule ANY Michigan shows so far. And that would be absolutely criminal if they shut it down, and don't do the ONE city that pretty much made them in the States. Cummon, Rush. Lets get it going! Palace of Auburn Hills, Baby!

  • @oldjizzy They're gonna be there april 17th, but the ticket presale is already over

  • That first part 'flipped me out'! Surprisingly so... Must've had a similar effect to many in the audience.

Lamp, Corn., Monkey. (What's the set of things in which these all belong?)

  • First of all i wanna give wickedcurve compliments for delivering such a great vid!

What a great version of another Rush classic. Like it better than the original, better drive and Alex's solo is superb.

  • @harrybrandy thank you very much for your compliment! It was my pleasure!

  • Did anyone else notice his bass on this tour? It looks like his 1972 Jazz, but with a different neck (no block inlays) and a mother of pearl pickgaurd. It scared me but I got used to it.

  • what camera eye did you...woops, i mean what camera did you use?

  • awesomesauce!

  • Nice shot of one of my three original favorites, performed live.

  • I love this band, from the first time I heard them in 74, as an 8 year old until now! I think they are at their best now.

  • Well the time machine thing's on alex's side are amps what are the things on geddy's side, dressed up washing machine's perhaps

  • @Annonymus121 It's known as "steampunk" it's a sci-fi way of making tools using normal materials like steel, wool, steam, and so much other stuff. Best example I can really think of would be the Wild Wild West movie staring Will Smith.

  • Hey !! your video is awesome, what kind of camera did you use?

  • @litterboxplayhouse I guess your'e right about that and I stand corrected!

  • @elekrikal thank you...lol

  • @mikbstorm thank you so much for the compliment!

  • for releasing this almost 30 years ago, Geddy didn't do all that bad in hitting those high notes

  • @Jalreal Yeah I was suprised

  • R u s h is magic.........

  • My favorite Rush song of all time, listened to it all the way through high school and college every time I had a track and field and cross-country meet. Always about 45 minutes before I competed, "The Camera Eye" would get me psyched up.

  • This isn't good sound quality.

  • @elekrikal its comparatively alot better than other camera phone stuff out there....

  • Nice job! We saw this in Allentown, PA, I won't soon forget it.

  • Great, great, great vid! Thanks for posting!!!

  • what camera did u use?..im seeing them in the 8th row at boston and ould like to take some video..ty

  • Saw this tour in Jersey on 9/3, recently busted leg and all. Was not going to miss this show. Well worth it. Nice post.

  • Congrats to everyone who got to see this tour..I missed out. It would have been awesome to see Moving Pictures performed in it's entirety.

  • Excellent! So frigging excellent!

  • I love the cow mooing at the end!! haha

  • 26 days. Can't wait!

  • Please, please, please, please bring this tour to London!! please!!

  • excellent, thx for the upload. I saw them 08/28 in Minneapolis. But I grew up in KC. I have seen several concerts at Starlight back in the day. I love to see KC people showing love for Rush!

  • just saw them monday in chicago, the cat on the upper right video screen cracked me up

  • Two words....freaking awesome!!!

  • Thanks for the upload! Excellent! This is one of Rush' songs that we never get tired to listen! It will always sound new, intelligent and interesting to witness!

  • @bassnebula93 You're welcome!

  • what kind of camera do u have ?? thx

  • the focus is sharp in the city !!!!

  • @JCM1325 Totally agree with you on that. I thought the same thing. His bass sounded very "mid-rangey" with very little low end. The taurus pedals sure kicked ass on this sound. :)

  • I saw them in Seattle last Saturday and this sound sounded the best.

  • CALL LOCAL ROCK FM RADIO Stations REQUEST Rush SONG "CARAVAN"!

  • This was an absolutely awesome show at JB Long Island. 7/24/10 102 degrees at show time. NY crowd went nuts for this song natch. Heat was not good for the equipment, lots of snafus. Holy crap was it hot, but it was totally worth it, the best I have ever seen them

  • @systemdown4 If you watch Geddy, he looks over at Neil, then looks back at the keys, shaking his head.

  • @BassManGilbert good eye, amazing what video can capture what you would've otherwise miss...it's clearly seen where Geddy shakes his head...funny

  • @wickedcurve haha. i was actually downloading the audio from the show and the person who posted it mentioned it, which is why I looked it up. but yes, it is amazing what we can see!

  • @BassManGilbert (just a light hearted comment) just like in the opening intro about being a genius, Geddy might say to Neil, "to the crowd you might be considered a professor of drumming, to the WORLD you might be a professor of drumming, but to me you're no professor of drumming"....

  • @BassManGilbert where abouts in the video does this take place?

  • @ieetemos4breakfast answering for him, approx 2:24

  • @wickedcurve thanks breakfast. haha

  • I saw them at jones beach ny

  • Seeing them August 5th! First RUSH concert and they're playing Camera Eye!

  • Life is so much better when Alex plays a real guitar as opposed to those PRS pieces of shit.

  • @systemdown4

He does at 2:34 again too.

  • Very cool to see them pull this song out again. I saw them perform it years ago, but I'm not up for current day concert prices. They sound great, although Geddy's poor voice is long gone.

  • @ruleta74835 Geddy sounds fine

  • @jocovo84 - Seriously? Wow.

  • Very Cool !

  • Hope this tour comes out on video this is my favorite all time Rush song!

  • 4:31 !?!? Never thought id hear such a bad mistake out of Lerxst!

  • @BonzoMcBonzo at 4.29 Lerxst makes his mistake, for some reason he always makes one or two, each concert... but his solo smokes!!!!!!!!!

  • @harrybrandy Yeah I noticed it too, and was just about to mention it

  • Hey wicked, this is no bullshit, this is real good quality, what camera were you using, just a perfect glimpse of what's beyond...

  • Great quality. What is the make and model of this camera? Looking to purchase a new one for this tour so I'm curious as this one does a pretty good job.

  • This is great- good job

  • Dude great camera work. I know how much concentration it takes to hold a camera steady when you really want to rock out. I gotta wait another month before seeing them, so much appreciated.

  • Man, Ged is having a bit of a time with some of the higher octaves these days. Still great to see them owning shit though. Thanks for the vid.

  • AMAZING!!! Can't wait til September 3rd at PNC Arts Center! 8 rows from GEDDY!!! Woo hoo!!!

  • Awesome song, awesome quality, except for the fact that the speaker appears to be covered by your hand or something at different times. My brother did the same thing when he filmed a concert in 2008.

  • @rshcry24 Thanks for your compliment and critique! Yeah, the mic on my camera is a tiny pin hole located in front of the camera. Actually listening to most of my videos I don't really detect too much of that, and I don't think it's me blocking the mic so much as it is the video was recorded at an outdoor venue and the sound seems different as well as hit and miss (for lack of better wording).

  • trying not to look at setlist hard ...........

  • @systemdown4 I was there, it was Geddy going too fast..lol!!!

  • @systemdown4 @EStTramp @Ragemous, thank you all!

  • can't get over how good this is, just sick, thanks again

  • @EStTramp Thank you!

  • everything rage said, ditto! AMAZING video! holy shyt! i've watched more videos than i can count, this one is top shelf! very interested in camera and settings used, thanks so much for sharing!

  • wc, what are you using to shoot with and how do you have the mic set? Incredible video's with great sound, I am envious.
