  • Well done

  • 1:32 the Haloing is shockingly bad

  • Can eroin904 tell me who wrote this wonderful music, and who cares if some images are "overcooked" thats purely a matter of personal taste, great texture in all the woodgrain etc these are wonderful visual cacophonies thank you for sharing.. S

  • The almost all the HDR photos shown here are bad or overcooked.

  • Most of your pictures looked better when they weren't HDR.

  • E. S. Posthumus FTW

  • 3:00 - 3:03 The dude at the left VANISHES :O

BEWARE OF HDR! IT KIDNAPS PEOPLE!

  • ....... the shot of the riverfront at the end of the clip is nice. Gotta give you that one.

  • Most of these "re-done" photos are HORRIBLE !!! You DO know that "too much" can also be bad, right ?!

The halos around the objects is terrible also !!! Over-done !!! Might look OK for a newbie, but for those of us who know about HDR, most of these are junk !!

  • which camera?

  • music is from?

  • i thing, saturation of your images is too strong and manyof viewed photos looks as LDRphoto with Tonemaping applicated... too many photos HDR dont need... five photos what hdr needs... congtans, nice... but saturation is for me high

  • there is a lot of haloing around the trees but great photos man i enjoyed your clip

  • just like in the movies

  • I LOVE your work! Awesome shots, great video and love the music!!!

  • every pic = fuckin sick

  • All of the information about HDR Photography, provided on the internet, has been intended to assist and teach "Photographers" how to do this process. While it's easy to teach the shooting aspect, it's both time consuming and expensive to learn how to do the "proper" post-processing. If you look up Pro Photo Results / HDR Photography on YouTube, you will finally be able to get the finished post-processing done for you! You do not need to be a professional Photographer to accomplish this.

  • I love the MUSIC.. Apocalypto type

  • i like your merc :D

  • if you have CS5, do you need photomatix?

  • Life needs an update

  • WOAH whats the audio?

  • @Zenadorr Nara - E.S. Posthumus

  • sometimes i dont like how it look...its like too much PS on it.

  • I really like the music you used, which one is that please ?

  • @rely24: The song is called "Nara" by E.S. Posthumus. It was also used as the opening theme song to the show "Cold Case"

  • @photogirl7 Thank you very much !

  • @photogirl7 Thank you very much ! I did'nt know it was in Cold Case (but I don't watch any more TV program lately...)

  • HDR is not photography. HDR is magic button stimulation of an image. Photography is capturing an image with a mastery of light and composition. Your work is interesting but common.

  • @krawdaddys i do see what you mean but surely HDR photography is just a tool to help us manipulate how we see the world and create something new and interesting instead of just capturing what we see(im not saying that is a bad thing).

  • @krawdaddys You obviously haven't seen Trey Ratcliff's work. You're right that the pictures in this video were fairly ordinary, but HDR from an expert is beautiful.

  • @krawdaddys You have some wonderful images on you Youtube channel krawdaddys, are they from a single shot or is there any processing in Photoshop for example after the image has been captured.

  • these are kick ass photos....God gave DaVinci a brush..God gives us now HDR...

  • simply brilliant! your pictures are fantastic!

why is everyone complaining about making everything HDR? my screen says this video's title is "HDR Photography" So sorry folks, your gonna see some HDR photography in this video. I'm not hating though, i just think its kinda weird people are whining that the picture changed to HDR. anyway... everyone to their own i guess, Im not new to photography but i am new to HDR. All i can say is im hooked!

  • simply brilliant! your pictures are fantastic!

  • This would be a GREAT tutorial for those wanting to see what HDR really does.

Its the "before" and "After" shots that really get to you. If it don't get to you, then don't even bother with HDR.

I was a "non believer in hdr" until I really got into it and now, I'm truly addicted to it!..

To my very simple mind, HDR does make a TREMENDOUS difference!...

  • they were all good before the hdr. i would only do an hdr photo of somthing that isnt particularly interesting by itself.

  • @toymachine135 Yeah, but don't they all look so much cooler after the hdr?

  • @vlogition they do, but i think if its really a picture worth taking it doesn't need to be hdr to look cool.

  • You must take 3 pictures. One underexposed. The secound normal exposed and the third picture overexposed. With special HDR Software you can compile this Photos. Some cameras has a Build in HDR function. But it's not as good like pictures inside the video.

  • ME HA GUSTADO MUCHO, BUENAS FOTOS HDR, SALUDOS DESDE SPAIN.

  • SDLR camera can do like this hdr ??

  • some images turned out great by making the photo HDR.

But personally, I think some photos should stay as what they are.

  • I like how u did the Mercedes Benz photos and presented them towards the end, beat for last!

  • how do you do that?

  • I think, although HDR can be used with everything, the exaggerated effects (as demonstrated here) are only to be used with certain images for artistic effect. Although there are some flaws (the glow around the single palmtree image), this is a very good demonstration of HDR and how different it can be to regular images.

For those asking how to do it: Take 2 or more pictures with different exposures of the same thing without moving the camera. Import them into photomatix.

  • This is simply a "Superb" presentation as what HDR can do. Most interesting is that you can take a very very simply nothing much photo and convert it into something close to a "masterpiece!"... this is a great piece of HDR work...keep up the terrific presentations.....

  • fantastic job, thanks for sharing. is there some manual/description of how to do this please?

  • ES POSTHUMUS!!!!!!!!

  • looks good!

but dont over do it in every picture.. waste of your time and of pictures that look better without it

  • @sima150 the thing is though, you can do it for every picture and you can still keep the normal looking picture, cuz it takes 3 shots, one normal and two others. If you're unhappy with hdr you can just keep normal.

  • what is HDR? Never heard of HDR photography before.

  • id ont like how it makes everything look so "edited"

  • Spectacular video, photo treatment and soundtrack... What is that music, Rubaja & Hernandez?

  • Too much vibrance in these photos, i would switch them b/w and it would make a good effect. Great pictures nontheless, but maybe try less processing through cs. The HDR itself is great don't really need to adjust a picture so much. But anyways, great job and keep taking more pictures ! :D

  • 2:25 - 2:28 WOW

  • What song?

  • I would like to try HDR but i think it looks better subtley done. Unlles of coarse your going for a way out effect. A lot of HDR photos remind me of the time i took magic mushrooms !

  • 2:22 o.o

  • STUNNING

  • Wonderful work, this is really fascinating ;)

Can u tell me, what's the melody playing and artist?

  • these are beautiful. this shows how digital is coming into its own now.

  • HDR makes somethings look good and others just really cheesy like bad

  • HDR makes real life look better

  • Wich song is this? :O

  • @Evilgurkan Nara by E.S. Posthumus

    watch?v=iPvTOwxCecM

  • @tev789

    Thanks

  • Majority of them are pushed too far and don`t even look like HighDynamicRange pictures but more like over-saturated paintings. They are nice, but you don`t need to use settings in their maximum ratings imho

  • amazing love it.. i dont understand it but looks well good

  • Some of them are really great :)

But some have tooooo many "halos" and are to ...... i would say "extreme"!!!!

    Nice work!

  • @peekay1977 I agree with you, a couple had too much detail processed, sometimes less is more. But on the whole some nice work.

  • Awesome work and video!

  • Good job...I made some hdr...but, I'm not so good like you...rs

  • The song is "Nara", by ES Posthumus - The album is titled "Unearthed". Find it on iTunes.

  • Thank you!!!

  • Oh my God! What song is this?! I must have it xD

  • What was that song?

  • What music did you use on this video? It is choreographed beautifully with the photography, GREAT job.

  • i don't think it's necessary to make every photo HDR photo. It's like you have a shiny new hammer, and everything looks like a nail now.

  • @tennisPete

I actually agree on this one.. but it's just so God damn hard not to start up that machine again and again ;)

  • @tennisPete I agree. At best HDR photos can be mind-blowing, and at worst, gimmicky. But if you're an artist, like erion904, the results are just incredible. Superb work!

  • @tennisPete I agree. At best HDR photos can be mind-blowing, and at worst, gimmicky. But if you're an artist, like erion904, the results are just incredible. Incidentally, some of these photos would look awesome in B/W. Superb work!

  • @tennisPete ahahahah...great example!

  • AMAZING !

  • Did you take 1 photo and changed the exposior leven in the pc of did you take 3 pics???

  • Great video with some sweet HDR shots.

Yeah, thhedk is right. It's extremely easy to over due it in tonemapping and make everything look overly artificial. Granted, the "illustrated look" has it's place, but it can get pretty tiring to look at.

  • Nice idea, but watch out not to overdo the effect, so it looks too unnatural.

I made my own video like yours, watch my channel (cant link here)

  • Very nice shoots!

  • this is the soundtrack from 5500 serie ,right ?

  • What is the name of this song?

    Sweet HDR by the way!!

  • Very very nice work there mate !

  • turn the fucking music off

  • @Okky22 Google "Youtube Sound Controls"

  • this is brilliant , I recently got my hands on an canon eos 300d but unfortunately I don't have a tripod . the camera has the ae bracketing function , but I can't seem to make this work in photoshop CS3 like you do . what option do you use that saves time but also does this job ? the "file-automate-merge to HDR" or the layering method ? if you could give me a detailed insight of your work I will be really grateful .

  • ужас. не как глаз, а зарисовка!

  • Nice job

    the music is EPIC !!

  • This is amazing!

  • That is some amazing pictures you have thar. :)

  • check out some of my hdr photographs :) i posted them in a video response :D

  • Simply perfect i love it.

  • hey could you teach me how to shoot in HDR PLEASE thank you=]

  • I got the Song Name!

    Nara - E.S. Posthumus

  • looks cool- try not to go overboard though...when working on a piece too long it's hard to see it with fresh eyes

  • Very nice work. Big up!

  • wow these are AMAZING!! just a quick question....did you use a single RAW file or 3 pictures at different exposures?

  • I dont know what to say, thats is some really amazing work. I was told about this at Futureshop today when I ordered my new Camera. I am so going to get some software for this.

  • Some were way over HDR'ed for my taste, but still nice slide show.

  • holy shit! haha i have basically the same pictures that u have taken in Jacksonville florida right??? i wish i knew how to do HDR then mine and urs would look almost identical

  • Nice video. Thanks for sharing :)

  • some great images... what's the song?

  • What's the music?

  • что за музыка такая чудесная?

  • :) same question can be asked by many people :)

  • I'm good at taking the shots... I can't tone map to save my life. I really wish someone local or somewhere on the internet can say "do these settings" because honestly I feel that I'm screwing up one slider or two. Spectacular images, by the way.

  • how to get hdr? please , help me :(

  • sweet ending..

  • Although subjective, my $0.02 is you made the sky too dark very often. To reproduce what the human eye sees like in a photo the sky needs to be around 1 stop brighter than the ground & reflections. Many of your pics the ground looks about 1/2 stop brighterwhich in nature is pretty much impossible making them look edited and surreal.

  • Do you work with 1 RAW or with many JPEG?

  • Nice job.

  • If you dont fiddle around to much in photoshop you can get realistic looking HDR images.......depends what you want as an end result. Im not against "cartoon" like results, some look like oil paintings to me.

  • what is the name of the song?

  • great HDR images! What sort of processing are you doing in CS2? Simply amazing.

  • Thanks, just checked the music is from Cold Case.

  • What is the music?????

  • is the music from "cold case" :D

  • Excellent !!!

Great presentation of images, and going the extra mile to time it with the music.

Who`s the music by, and the track?

  • The biggest advantage for outside photo's is obviously the sky (or non sky) detail that's added. You can certainly make great big photo's, posters with HDR and it's great you only need 1-2 programs and a few profiles to get such great results.

  • P.S.: I'm absolutely not against HDR processing. I think it's one of the best techniques developed, ever. I just wish more people would pay more attention to balance instead of creating this extreme detail that make too many pictures look somewhat cartoonish imo.

  • The point with HDR is that it's great for showing detail, but people often go over the top with it, making the picture almost look cartoonish. If that's the intention, it's a mission accomplished. It's not realistic anymore though.

The human eye can better adapt to high contrast situations than camera's, but the HDR images sometimes make the pictures have more detail than the human eye can see. That's why some think it's not realistic. If you don't care, it's all good.

  • Very well done!!

  • Do you find it better to use Photomatix than photoshop? I used photoshop and have not gotten the same results compared to your images.

  • Sorry, but you don't know how to use hdr correctly .. You use this technique too strong, your pic looks very unreal, just like very crappy painted pic. HDR is made for improve dynamic range in your photos, to see pic like you saw it before you take it with your camera.

  • There is only one or two where the technic looks off compared to some I have seen these look very nice. Plus HDR can be used to get that surreal lighting that looks like a dream world. To say what you did was harsh and makes you sound snobbish. Remember that could be the look the person taking the picture wants not everyone will like it.

  • Yup, you have right. Of course you can use it to make yours pictures looks like dream word with surreal lighting. I just writhed what i think about hdr technique. Sorry, didn't mind to attack you. Peace and wish you nice shots witch your camera :)

  • HIGH Dynamic RANGE. This means there are hugely bright areas and hugely dark areas. One must first make the choice as to WHICH area is the FIRST (zero bracket) to reference from. Secondly if the scene is NOT of HDR composition, one will be disappointed with the results. For example here there is a composition of a large field and a large sky: This is NOT and HDR candidate. Zukaka84 mentioned that it looks FAKE. It is ART. Very nice slide show Erion904.

  • great work,im in learning process, hoping to create some hdr images very soon.awesome job!

  • Fantastic work. So glad you showed the before photos as well. Found myself thinking "can't do much with that photo", then WOW!

    loved it!

  • did you auto bracket or do it manually?

  • Comment removed

  • Song is called Nara by E.S. Posthumus

  • Nice video!! Well done!!

But what is the name of the song you can hear??

  • Nice job

  • Looks as though some light room was used! Nice work:

  • Some photos are really good but lots of them look very artificial and look like painted pictures.

  • Song: Nara by ES Posthumus

  • Question: Is it a single photo processed with photomatrix intop a fke HDR photo or is it 2 shots with different time of lightning and then joined with the program? Or: Is it a real hdr camera? Answer pülease, awesome video btw man, 5*****!

  • HDR shots are typically made by combining 3 photos. One picture is under exposed, the next is normal exposure, and the final is over exposed. Photoshop then has a function to combine the 3 to get and HDR picture. Im not sure how he gets the incredible colors though. maybe he could tell us :D

  • Good explanation.

What usually follows then, is Tonemapping

You could do this in Photoshop as well, but there is a great program Photomatix Pro, try it!

There are many videos on Youtube about it and I just posted a tut on making HDR (with a single image) in Photomatix :)

    /watch?v=nogbVNz5f00

  • Even the top of a garage door looked phenominal !!

  • Awesome scenery HDR photos, Love to take my HDR pictures with my Nikon D90 together with VR 18-200mm Nikkor Len and use it in Photomatix Pro 3.2.3 to create HDR photos.

  • HDR makes it feel like everything in a photo is ment to be there... just like a painting. Great vid.

  • Great video.

  • hdr images seem to portray what the eye actually sees rather than the camera..if you know what i mean.great video.

  • what the hell? how did you do that?

  • Is there a way to utilize this technology on video?

  • your name mark or mike? I think I've seen your Flickr

  • Wonderful! Sometimes it's a little bit exaggerated, but I enjoyed very much!

  • what is the name of the song?

  • E.S. Posthumus - Nara

  • thanks a lot for responding

  • OMG this is amazing! The HDR transition is awesome! =D

  • dude these photos are beautiful how many did u take for each hdr set

  • love that normal > HDR transition at 2:29

it goes with the music perfectly :)

  • what lens were you using ??

    thanks in advance

  • The photos are amazing! I like the song too.

  • I really like this. I thought some of the images were really excellent, was impressed by the treatment as it was applied to every day subjects. Also liked the choice of music - by the way what is it? Great job. Thanks.

    Bobby

  • way to much halos

  • I thought it was well presented. Good job.

  • very nice

    well done

  • what happened to real pictures? it all looks painted when it was fixed with the HDR

  • Some are fine, but I would agree with some of the comments about being overdone. Quite impressive though
