Temperature control for the film is just a matter of keeping it inside an almost perfectly insulated box.

If they can map the Earth so that you can see your own car on your drive, then why don't they map the Moon in the same way? Is it because of the reports that there are unexplained structures that have even been seen by astronauts and if so they would take some explaining as it would throw the whole history of our civilisation into question.
@debnpete1 -- They HAVE mapped the moon the same way. You can see the entire moon down to less than one meter resolution. You can see the equipment left by Apollo, and even the hundreds of yards long foot paths. Multiple independent countries have mapped it and guess what ... all the maps taken with modern orbital photography match the close-up shots taken by the Apollo astronauts.
Regarding him "falling upwards".....the suits are airtight & pressurised....here's an elementary experiment to do at home.....blow up a long balloon....put a lil oil on top, then at an angle bend it, letting your finger slide off..... it will "flick" back up. Much like 1/6 gravity on the moon, the ballon will do exactly the same as it flies into the air. Just like the pressurised suits the pressure in the balloon will want it to regain it's most rigid form...... basic physics

That lower gravity also explains how a fit human being with legs evolved for the gravity of Earth can push themselves up so quickly, they only weight a sixth of their Earth weight but have the same strength they have on Earth.

Just because there's no wind or atmosphere on the moon doesn't mean that the flag wont move. When the astronaut moved the flag pole it made the flag move and the flag would had moved a lot when moved because there is no air resistance on the moon.

they didn't go to the moon once.The US send men to the moon about 5 times.Those pictures are not only from Apollo 11 some of them are from the other Apollo missions. The reason why the flag moves was they add wire on the edges of the flag to hold up the flag, and the flag moves because it was not steady( since there are still gravity on the moon) or the man holding the flag was moving it a little. At 0:38 you see a dot,that was just a scratch on the film.

Similarly, a debris crater? From what? The rocket exhaust is coming out at thousands of miles per hour - how is any debris it kicks up going to end up right beneath the LM?

What do you expect to see in this photo?

The reason NASA claims that stars can't be seen from the moon was because the sun was shining on the moon when the astronauts were there and that blinded all other sources of light from the cameras. Well, if that is true, and it possibly could be, then how do they explain seeing the light from the Earth with the sun shinning on the moon? Looks like NASA has some explaining to do. HAHA!
@TruthWillSetUFree911, one can see the earth while on the moon for the same reason that one can see the moon during the day from the earth--it's brighter than stars by thousands of times. In reality, stars were seen on the moon by at least a couple of the Apollo astronauts, but not easily. Gene Cernan (Apollo 17) said he could faintly see a few stars while in the shadow of the LM and while shading his eyes from the glare of the ground.
If Apollo 11 didn't go to the moon, where was it for those five days in 1969? People would have noticed it if it was just orbiting the Earth for all that time. Did they hide it in Area 51?

But I think this phase of questioning everthing, is part of our time, and where one can hope the real important eye-whitnesses is not questioned as much as the moon-landings. several things are wrong with this video. first off, stars are not visible to the human eye without the earth's atmosphere amplifing their light. Second, the lander produced no exhaust because the fuel was hydrogen based and flame cannot be created without the prescense of oxygen

@antiazazel I wish I could say I dont believe you could make such a dumb statement but sadly such comments are all to common..sigh....the camera was in a box outside the LEM pointied at the ladder when it was built, Niel stepped onto the ladder pulled a cord the box opened and the camera started to film Niel walking down the ladder, that is why the film starts with Niel on the ladder! its childs play to work out how to film this historic event.

Thousands of shots were taken. The vast majority of the shots were average quality. A few were good. Many were crap. They are all publically available.

And what "extremes" would a shielded, shaded roll of film go through in outer space? It would have the same exposure to heat that film in earth orbit does all the time.
Temperature control for the film is just a matter of keeping it inside an almost perfectly insulated box.

If they can map the Earth so that you can see your own car on your drive, then why don't they map the Moon in the same way? Is it because of the reports that there are unexplained structures that have even been seen by astronauts and if so they would take some explaining as it would throw the whole history of our civilisation into question.

@debnpete1 -- They HAVE mapped the moon the same way. You can see the entire moon down to less than one meter resolution. You can see the equipment left by Apollo, and even the hundreds of yards long foot paths. Multiple independent countries have mapped it and guess what ... all the maps taken with modern orbital photography match the close-up shots taken by the Apollo astronauts.

Regarding him "falling upwards".....the suits are airtight & pressurised....here's an elementary experiment to do at home.....blow up a long balloon....put a lil oil on top, then at an angle bend it, letting your finger slide off..... it will "flick" back up. Much like 1/6 gravity on the moon, the ballon will do exactly the same as it flies into the air. Just like the pressurised suits the pressure in the balloon will want it to regain it's most rigid form...... basic physics

The centre of gravity physics applies because once past the horizontal, even in the lower gravity of the moon, the turning force around his centre point is high due to the mass of his upper body and backpack. That lower gravity also explains how a fit human being with legs evolved for the gravity of Earth can push themselves up so quickly, they only weight a sixth of their Earth weight but have the same strength they have on Earth.

Just because there's no wind or atmosphere on the moon doesn't mean that the flag wont move. When the astronaut moved the flag pole it made the flag move and the flag would had moved a lot when moved because there is no air resistance on the moon.

The reason why the flag moves was they add wire on the edges of the flag to hold up the flag, and the flag moves because it was not steady( since there are still gravity on the moon) or the man holding the flag was moving it a little. At 0:38 you see a dot,that was just a scratch on the film.

All of these have perfectly reasonable explanations of course. "Look Ma, no hands!" - he's of course using his hands, watch his left hand as he stands up. It's just on the side away from the camera. Similarly, 1:27, either the astronaut's incredibly short... or the lunar surface is irregular as we see in literally every picture.

@SurvivalWithBushcraf Keep in mind that this is an environment totally unlike any you're used to, making your intuition very questionable. For example, you ask why there's no burn mark - "burning" is mixing fuel with oxygen. No oxygen, no burn mark. That's why rockets bring their own oxidizer.
Similarly, a debris crater? From what? The rocket exhaust is coming out at thousands of miles per hour - how is any debris it kicks up going to end up right beneath the LM?

As for the double shadows I know of photos with shadows that are not parallel, but definitely no double shadows.

I see radial dust patterns, exactly as I would expect to see. When viewed from on high, the discolored dust is obvious, as I would expect to see. What do YOU expect to see? You can also see a small crater, perhaps 1 inch deep, five or six feet wide (not the little hole, that was already there, I'm talking about the shallow depression). This is what I expect to see. What do you expect to see in this photo?

Goofy video. The flag moves 'cause there is an a'naut moving it. The sped up footage proves nothing. That "flicker" doesn't look like a wire--it looks like a blob! It's a lens flare. Besides, where's the rest of the "wire"? The next section was filmed on a hillside & the a-naut has his left hand on the other astronaut's arm. The launch vid was remote controlled. That's a photo of Aldrin--the 2nd a-naut. The backgrounds are MILES away! The cam on the chest could be lifted. THINK!

The reason NASA claims that stars can't be seen from the moon was because the sun was shining on the moon when the astronauts were there and that blinded all other sources of light from the cameras. In reality, stars were seen on the moon by at least a couple of the Apollo astronauts, but not easily. at 0:21 when astronaut passes you can see still the stick behind him. normally you can't see any object if someone passes between you and the object:D
this means that they took 2 video as 1 video compressed. even if he returns back at 0:27 you can see flagstick + another stick behind him. :D it's absurd:D

Seriously, if NASA ever pulled off a trip to the moon again in the future, it would be even more questioned. But I think this phase of questioning everthing, is part of our time, and where one can hope the real important eye-whitnesses is not questioned as much as the moon-landings. Manifestations that makes us belive in our own progress and our own responsibilitys, and holding on to values, is important. I also think events intended for "TV only" always will be a bit weak for that manifest.

You knew Armstrong? I envy you (seriously) If you have any anecdotes you would like to share do please PM me, I would love to here them. Of all the astronauts he was the one with the least temper. I remember one story where he and his crew did a simulation in training when after two hours a technician messed up and ruined the whole thing. He quietly announce that they would take a leak and grab a sandwich and do it again. He must have been a pleasure to work with.

several things are wrong with this video. first off, stars are not visible to the human eye without the earth's atmosphere amplifing their light. Second, the lander produced no exhaust because the fuel was hydrogen based and flame cannot be created without the prescense of oxygen
