theres a guy in the province i used to live in where he made a kite thats about 4 feet wide and 5 feet high, with bamboo sticks and hefty black garbage bags, it flew so high it was a dot in the sky, but in his 5th time flying it it crashed on the way back cause of wind gusts, it crashed in a bamboo tree,which is somehow ironic to me, and ripped all plastic bags but left the frame intact, but at least he let me fly it when it was high up there, the pull on the string is about 40lbs,used nylon

Yes... For the most part the "flying kites" were eliminated. A little mix of showing the result of the pilots movements would have been a good thing .. FWIW!!!

I think this video is fantastic, almost a tutorial... It require skills and strength to keep a stunt kite up on the ski, specially one so big as this one showing here... I have a little jazz, and every time I try to drive her, she drags me to the ground, showing me that she is still the boss... Beautiful, and cheerful video, 5*s :]

Having flown both for about 15 years .... stunt kites are all about mental ability and skill ..... for the most part now days, traction kites, while fantastic in their design and ability ..... are rather tame now days and do not require much skill to fly ..... I have personally been over 5 meters up without inch of hesitation with an old 4.2m2 c-quad, and could hover that thing just above the ground upside down on a light day .... try that with a bow kite!!

I can appreciate this video- especially the first guy. He was flying a "Thor's Hammer" - a 4 metre monster kite that pulls like a truck. Absolutely amazing. I guess I can confer with some comments about seeing too much of the other fliers- maybe a bit more kite footage would have been nice. But it was worth it to see Thor going so fast. Usually big sports kites don't move that fast!

I like seeing the pilots sometimes. Its way to much focus on just the kites in the videos. And only showing the kites wouldn't tell anything about the power of the wind that day. Anyway some more snippets with kites in could have helped.
