Just watching this again after a couple of months... these musicians are just great, the team spirit is what makes it, everyone's right on track. Superb.
Great job James! Well, my final performance at West Virginia university, we played this too man. Drop me a line and let me know whatcha think. See you in the pub, we gotta play together again. Fun times! -Eddie
I was wondering the same thing. The original piece is one that definitely did feature a bari solo by Mulligan, so it seems strange to not let the Bari player take it. But since it appears you were performing the entire album maybe there was a need to spread the solos around. Anyway, he did a great job and the band sounds terrific
Nailed it! Great job

why no Bari solo on a Gerry Mulligan piece!?!?
Joedirt099 4 years ago
The students chose what they were going to blow on. Not every Gerry Mulligan piece we did had a Bari solo ;-)
