  • I played with this thing, it is so laggy it's unbelievable. You cannot even compare it with the ipad in the operation smoothness department. I'm sorry but this is what's important in these things.

  • how much is it?

  • amazing....It seems better than iPAD!

  • when is this going to come out?

  • how can you like it its sloow it reacts like two seconds to late and laggy

  • sixteen gigerbai

  • I feel so sorry for Lenovo....Asus Transformer is so much better design and its around $500...

  • i wan i want i want

  • This is how Lenovo works guys - Lenovo THINKpad brand is their business/commerical laptops. Lenovo IDEApad Brand is their Consumer division. They sell both now......... Majority of sales outside of China is THINK and growing their IDEA brand. Majority of sale inside China is Consumer and growing their THINK. When they bought IBM and merged these two Brands, it was a good merge. :-)

  • IDIOTA, RETARDADO, MALUCO, DOIDO, DEBLOIDE, NÓIA

    tudo isso vocês são :D

  • u idiot@amitmal,Lenovo is Lenovo,IBM is IBM,where the hell u come from,MARS?!!

  • ugh the transition from tablet to windows machine is not seamless, they run different OS. The advertising video is misleading.

  • i have the same laptop stand. LOL

  • i wanna know how is the keybourd connected to the ipad? how?

  • @NEDandDJ Did your retarded self seriously just called this an iPad?

  • @artenman Hey Stuped The One Who Wrote This Was My Uncle He Hardly Knows English Stup3d Fu(k

  • @NEDandDJ You are retardo.

  • omg how much??????

  • @1980KNIGHTRIDER its $1,000 about that

  • @NEDandDJ Thanks My Uncle Really Needed To Know

  • When I tell my friends not to buy iPads, it's computers like this that I have in mind!!

  • This is definitely superior to iPad. Odd, the media hasn't covered it...

What would be more desirable is to have great software to go with it, then, there's a question of the target market... I bet college-bound students love it...

  • he is chinese but stupid, if 我是联想的老总,我回去就把他给FIRE掉

  • Hahaha stupid jap!!!

  • @ps31871 He's not Japanese.

  • @ps31871 He's not Japanese, and he's not stupid.

  • This idea is heading in the right direction, very smart; very practical.

    I LOVE IT!!!

  • @Merocity - you're obviously an Apple fanboy - so many posts on anything that isn't an iPad! Your precious iPad is both expensive, limited in functionality and about ten years late into the running. Sure, they'll sell a lot of them, and sure, it'll be popular, but as amitmal says - being able to use the Lenovo as a laptop AND a tablet, absolutely works for many of us in business!

iPad is nothing more than an overgrown iPod!

  • @Merocity

Think you have it backwards; the iPad is not a serious business tool like this could be.

What if you were able (I don't know if you can) to hook this up to a projector, be running your presentation & someone has a question, then you say "here look at this" and hand him the touch screen that has more detailed information on it.

Then you get to go back to your presentation. This is were the technology can lead to & it's a great idea to have a multiple use system.

  • single handed kicked apples bitch ass. yes I said apples a bitch so what, wanna fight about it? Mac has been stealing ideas for years, try to steal this one bitches. I'll burn down their factory myself if they do. fuck a mac. fuck a mac fanboy. yall bitches aint even got FLStudio. Suck it. get pissed, I dare you. guess who Mac steals their ideas from, yep, Asian companies. Like LG for instance.

  • @jtmagicman25

    LMAO.

  • @jtmagicman25 , LOL the mac fanboys do not need FL Studio they got Apple Logic. :D

  • @Seantube3 Ok, I don't see your point, but I'll bite.

  • looks laggy...

  • HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

    ...awesome

  • when is it coming out already, jesus

  • Impressive!

  • Asian's can do any thing : )

  • You said it..GO LENOVO..buy stock NOW!

  • i came

  • why are you online if you dont like smart people like me

  • apples ipad is sill better

  • waste of time

    waste of time

    waste of time

    waste of time

  • @chosenone065

ur a waste of time!.....now get off of youtube!

  • If you ask me, this should truly be competition for the ipad. if I was into reading books and such, i wouldn't mind having this at all! TRUE innovation.

  • I think Ipad is better than that. I would never buy the Lenovo Ideapad u1 hybrid. I hate Netbooks!!!! They suck i like performance not small size

  • @addyplate appale suckS.......they use slow processor! duh! the ipad (1GhZ) processor! All netbooks have 1.6GhZ processor!

  • @kyuubimon Yes but the Ipad doesn't run a Mac or Windows OS it runs Iphone technology

  • @kyuubimon : You moron. The amount of GHz has very little to say. This tablet also has a 1Ghz SnapDragon processor (in addition to the C2Duo), but the ARM cpus are way faster than the Atom cpus per/hz.

  • Awesome. Feature wise knocks the iPad for dead.

    Best of both worlds IMHO

  • it's a chinese mannn :D

  • i will pick this one out of ipad. Ipad is just a bigger ipod touch which is useless to me.

  • I NEED TO HAVE IT O_O

  • OMG ..... drooool!!!

  • i like it. i'm not really worried about any lag, because its just a development model after all. overall, it makes more sense than the iPad. the iPad is a nice idea, but what can you really do with an iPod Touch on steroids that can only sync with itunes?

  • @CommanderAwesomeness

    That's a nice excuse.

  • what if your tying an essay on while its connected to the keyboard and than you pull the screen out and would like to show ur essay to your friend and make adjustments. Will it retain the stage where it was connected to a keyboard ?

  • @djsal510

as of now, that's not possible, but it's release in summer is a long way away.

  • Yes it would, and it is guaranteed to retain to the stage within three seconds.

  • i dont think it is laggy.. its just that resistive touch screen is slower to detect finger movement across the screen. use something solid such as your finger nail then you'll notice how much the overall experience will improve

  • its laggy :(

  • only b/c its a concept. concepts are usually like that. it hasnt come out yet.

  • laggy...

  • @ 1:16:

Interviewer: "Do you know approximately how much?"

Lenovo Guy: "I don't know. Ha ha..."

    @ 1:21

Lenovo Guy: "How much you like pay?"

Me: "Please come to CES with something that at least remotely resembles a clue."

  • schöne Fingerflecken auf dem Bildschirm -. ..?

  • LOTS of things to go wrong.

  • how much for the PC?

  • they said for this model about 1100 USD. the other model that swivles which doesn't have the independent OS or a slate is the Lenovo IdeaPad s10 (or something like that). It starts off at 500 dollars but doesnt have flash storage but rather an actual hard drive (320 I believe).

  • You bring a new product to CES and your spokesman can't speak english well enough to understand easily? Brilliant. That said, for my money, this thing smokes the over hyped ipad. What a joke the ipad is, no flash, which means only part of the internet is available.

  • That thing is clunky and the screen is greasy fingerprint city.

  • although its just a prototype, its super choppy and slow. It will be going for 900-1000$. But the Ipad is super fast and smooth and the cheapest one will be $500 when it comes out in a month. And when this thing is comes out later on in the year, they will have to lower the price if they wanna be competitive.

  • @mazer123 @Stuffyou100 Well, of course, that pardons the fact that Apple still won't support Flash, and the iPad isn't an OS, it's Iphone OS, so you can't install your own apps, it won't multitask, it has no camera, no storage you can get to, no USB port to add on anything, no camera, and is locked into ATT. The $500 model has no 3G at all. $629 does, w/ATT Only, at $30/month. FYI, Lenovo is saying price point: $549. So...

  • good points, and I agree that the Ipad has many flaws (no camera, no flash, OS not as versatile as a true OS, and very little storage, and no USB addon support). However, its positive points are that its very smooth, small, and easy to operate. Its more for people who just need to check their email, facebook, and watch some youtube, and occasionally play an app store game. If apple were to address those flaws, it would have a more competitive computer to sell.

  • But once companies like Lenovo create touch systems that are as smooth and easy as to operate as apple, then apple has something to worry about. To date I have yet to see any system that operates as smoothly as apples touch system. All PC touch systems have been very laggy so far.

  • Mazer

The iPad is the same size as a netbook (though a little thinner). It has no better functionality than most smartphones, the difference is a smartphone fits in your pocket. For checking emails, facebook, twitter etc on the move, a smartphone is just as good, but more portable, and it's a phone. While for more demanding work a netbook is more efficient, and just as portable as an iPad. So I simply can't see a use for the iPad other than as a novelty gadget.

  • arthmus,

the ipad is far from a novelty gadget. I am no apple fan boy and I admit that the ipad has its limitations, but it is still in my opinion one of the most convenient devices for doing everyday tasks which concern so many people. And this is why it will be a popular product and many people will buy one. I currently own an Ipod Touch and many people say it is just like a small Ipad, and I agree, it basically is. But I always hoped apple would make a larger Ipod touch and they have.

  • It is so much easier to check ur email, facebook, and watch videos on an ipad then it is on a PC. Think about it, no ridiculous load times. Pressa button and its on. No annoying fan noise, easy maintenance, dont have to worry about viruses, and everything is organized and ready to go. With a larger screen then a touch it is easier to type, view pictures and videos, and play games and so many other thing. I also think the ipad will be a lot more portable then any netbook due to its thinness.

  • I agree it is easier to do those things on a an ipad or similar device than it is on a PC. It's also easier to do those things on a smartphone than a PC for exactly the same reason. The point is while a bigger screen is better suited, a smartphone does more, because it's also a phone. So it isn't a replacement for a smartphone, its an extra device. I just don't understand why you would want 2 devices when one does less than the other, but slightly better.

  • ipad isnt that good......its shit compared to this

  • agreed

  • Eat your heart out Apple Ipad

  • IPAD is crap compared to this

  • 5 stars for da chinese guys accent :)

  • Smashes iPad...overated Apple bullshit

  • This is best product i have seen coming out of CES this year if they then added wireless charging to the slate OMG!

  • damn!!.. i want ths for sure!!!.. i wish wen its on tablet form.. it will work well on using photoshop.. i wish~~

  • Yes.. Did you ever tried using Photoshop on an 11" - Monitor?? -.-

  • He is from my country, but i suggest him to improve his English...OMG

  • a very cool UI on the slate which I think would rival something Apple can pull off, with the exception that it looks painfully laggy and choppy. let's not forget what the iPod touch could pull off...

but of all the tablet ideas out there, this is certainly a worthy competitor for apple

  • the laptop is the one i like, the guy need to improve his english, i can barely understand what he said

  • the idea is great, but looks the multi touch not very smooth??

  • @dliu84

What I've read other places is that this is an early prototype meaning that it will be a lot smoother when the actual product is available.

  • They should have added the Thinkpad keyboard instead of one with that horrible layout. Seems ThinkPad is the only laptop left with a sane keyboard layout.

  • looks great

  • Interesting innovation from the Chinese. Technology companies - love it as they keep expanding whats possible. Imagine working late night on the laptop and then taking the screen back to bed for reading before going to sleep!! go lenovo

  • Yes, this is great... Linux and Windows7 on ONE device. Simultaniously... :) I want one...

  • @amitmal IBM actually owns lenovo, and uses that brand to sell their pc's....

  • @brentsrx7 u idiot,Lenovo is Lenovo,IBM is IBM,2 different companies.where the hell u come from,MARS?!!

  • @luinternational Where did you come from? the fifth grade? do a Google search if your that stupid.

  • @luinternational IBM bought lenovo , they do the business laptops now , IBM thinkpad is now Lenovo thinkpad ..

  • @rupstaa It's the other way round mate.

Lenovo bought IBM PC business in 2004...

IBM still owning their software department thou... :)

  • @amitmal i would say that could be some sort of addiction
