@XCrazyCrossX All of the cars were crushed after the movie per the deal with Pontiac >:( . The truck is supposedly sitting in a field somewhere in the South.
@XCrazyCrossX Don't know except apparently the grass is up to the breathers (it was mentioned on the episode of American Trucker that featured the other replica truck). Someone else said it was still in use as a tow truck so I don't think we'll know until someone tracks it down.
the real trailer got destroyed in GA,Riverdale used to sit near dixieland and the real truck got converted into a towtruck somewhere in south GA rip trailer and well the trucks is a worker now, not a movie star...
One word to describe that truck.. WOW. That's it alright, you guys did an awesome job on that old kw, they coulda used it in the movie even. Keep up the great work down there I really enjoy watching all your videos of the old iron. Now, when you gonna remake the old westernstar 4800 from maximum overdrive and the old mack rs700l from convoy? Round out your collection of old trucks from movies ;)
Awesome restoration job. My late father was a trucker, and Smokey and the Bandit was his favorite movie. I enjoyed the truck show back in July, those old trucks brought back memories of riding with my dad.
I guess you really did have to crawl through a small hole at the rear of the cab to access the sleeper back in the early 70's.I remember building the kenworth models back then and always wondered why there was just a small crawl through between the cab & sleeper. Now I see it is real.....
I wish someone would make a replica of the truck from Maximum Overdrive with the Green Goblin face on it. That truck would make everyone take notice driving down the road.
I think what all of the people are doing (making EXACT REPLICAS) of the Smokey and the Bandit vehicles is one of the greatest ways to remember Jerry Reed and almost Burt Reynolds. All of these videos almost bring a tear to my eye. One of these days, I might make a replica and possibly park it right next to Jerry Reeds headstone. (i doubt it) Good job and nice vid.
i may be 13 but i know when i see a BEUTIFUL TRUCK....bring it down to Hamilton,AL when its finished.....an i like the idea of putting a prop load of illeagle Coors beer....i think i shed a happy tear....thanks for sharing that with the youtube community!
Hey,Maybe you are only 13,,but you are a very smart 13 year old with a sharp eye for a real classic! Come on up to NC and we'll take you for a spin in the truck! Have a great day Pal! and Thanks!
I'm not trying to compete with anyone, I just know how I want this truck and trailer to look, and so far I am pretty well pleased. Come by sometime and visit us!
now could you put a prop loas of illegal coors in the trailer too? lol. GREAT job i always wanted to redo an old W-900 up the same as Snowmans. didnt know it was a 73 tho, thought it was newer. post pics from the antique truck show too!
Thank You for that comment!! We are paying attention to detail as best as we can,we have over 100 photos from the actual movie and it should be VERY close.
smokey and the bandit is my all time favorite movie you guys are a class act , if someone was going to do a truck i'm glad someone did it right , hats off, 5 stars

Thank You! Actually we are working on four different truck projects right now...so we have been busy! This video is as of this past weekend,so we do have alot to go on the truck and trailer. Gene is painting that whole mural with a 1/2 inch sign painters brush!! WOW!! so all the detail takes alot of time. Thanks again and stay tuned.
We have been wanting to redo this particular truck for a couple of years now, so I figured it was time after finally finding the right trailer. (and tractor)Let me say THANK YOU for your support as a fan!! You all are the reason we build these trucks!!
Thank You!!! This one is taking some time,,It took us two years to find the 40ft. Hobbs Trailer! The tractor is a ONE owner since new in 73' and has only 170,000 actual miles! Gene will be adding MUCH more detail to the trailer until finished in June.
We were lucky to meet Gene Maynor the sign painter, He is available if you know of anyone needing art paint work or pinstriping...HE IS GOOD AT IT! (and reasonable too)
Thanks Josh! We need all the support we can get! We have a LOT more painting to go! But we'll get there! haha!,Plus we have to put the tractor together too.
Such a beauty!!! Amazing what you guys have done. My favorite movie! Greetings from a german truck mechanic...
