My books that long out-date Wicca say otherwise. An athame is not just used to cast energy. It is used to cut anything that is sacred or hold symbolic power. Think about the symbolical impressions upon what you do. Last but not least "do what thy wilt be the whole of the law" (Crowley).
I was also told to not cut anything with it, but then I did some extra reading years ago and reaslized exactly what you said. I don't get why people are being taught the wrong thing

can u use any shape crystals to draw the circle? i have some larger pieces and was wondering if they had to be wand/pointy shaped or if any shape crystal would work?
also if using citrine to help with positive energy do you need to remove the negitive or does citrine do that for you?
a) yes any shaped crystals can be used, but points allow the energy to form a defined line. b) Citrine does not remove negative energy, for that you need purification. Purification can be done first. However, on the other hand, some people choose not to purify at all. It's a matter of circumstance and belief.
I love your videos. I find that citrine also helps cleanse the body and rose quartz is good for the blood. Rose quartz also warms the blood. This is just what I've found.
