I can't stand these dogs. They look like deformed rats with fur, are too small, often killed in freak accidents (accidentally stepping on them, victims of birds of prey)they are poorly trained by owners 90% of the time(bad attitudes and spoiled beyond reason), always start trouble with animals that can and will obviously hurt or kill them, and have the most annoying barks.

The only lovable thing about them is their ability to hunt small pests but all other uses they are useless in my opinion.

PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!I have a yorkie schnouzer mix puppy (i know i spelled shnouzer wrong) and he is the cutesr little guy ever and can be really sweet but he has a temper and can snap we tried saying no firmlly and even yelping and nothing worked we got him at about 7 weeks so he was pretty young we socialized him very well with non-aggresive dogs and we dont want him to be agressive please help my dad won't hire a profetional dog trainer he says cuz it costs money help!

@chouslop15 My Yorkshire Terrier *loves* kids. No dog is good with kids unless raised around them. Take the Labrador that mauled a 2 months old baby to death, or the Golden Retriever that sent a 3 year old girl to a hospital for example. Labs and Golden's are supposed to be "naturally good with kids", which is not true. No dog is going to be "naturally" good with kids. It depends on how they are trained and socialized. :o) And no Gender is "better" with a certain dog breed.

I have a yorkshire terrier, she approaching old age now, but still acts as though she a new born, she also very demanding yet shows high intelligence. the yorkshire terrier was bred through selective breeding, to be fast, agile, and intelligent, this is because farmers were the first to use them to chase rabbits and badgers down there holes, hence there fearless nature, they were gifted with a good memory to help them relocate the exit of a rabbit hole but sometimes died within when it collapsed

@TheAlbinoplatypus23 when yorkies are young and through the majority of there youth, there natural explorers, there fearless nature means they often act without thinking, its just there nature. if you're dog runs out, let her/him, then follow them slowly after and observe for safety obviously i.e not to be hit by a car. Speak in a direct tone, call there name and point at them they will usually cower and lay still, allowing you to retrieve them, repeat this to help you're Yorkie know you rule

@TheAlbinoplatypus23 its ok to shout but try to use the same tone of voice as this will become more easily to understand for them when given orders and to take you seriously. its easy to read a dog mind, not so easy for the dog to read yours, direct unchanged tone of voice for giving orders breaks communication barriers. if your dog complies with you're order, remember to reward it then, not before or for no reason, other wise it will fake being cute and use you to get its treats, mine did this.

Female dogs are more prone to being loyal to male humans and vice versa for male dogs to be more loyal to woman.

I spent at a substantial amount of time around yorkshire terriers. From my experience, they can either by fine or downright nasty. Generally the males tend to have a better temperament than the females. I'm not a big fan of small dogs; It's one of those dogs that retired pensioners get because they don't take so much looking after or cost a lot to feed.
